I didn't waste anytime changing. I had on a new uniform shirt underneath a grey hoodie and my leather jacket.
As I zipped up the jacket I remembered I had put the SD card in the pocket before. I put the SD card into my phone before putting it on the desk.
There was a knock on the door and I jumped.
"Hey if you need any help just text me. I have to go real quick." Melodic mood said through the door.
I decided to atleast clean the area from the blood when Claire showed up.
"Come on we dont have long before she realizes I lied to her." Claire grabbed my wrist and sped us out of the room.
When we stopped I threw up in a near by trashcan.
"Give me warning next time." I groaned as I wiped my mouth.
She tugged on the edge of her shirt as she looked around.
"I'm sorry, but if you weren't much friend I wouldn't be doing this." She pulled me over to a door. "I can get into trouble for this."
"I understand."
"The elevators wont work for you etight now, but the emergency fire exits will work if the sensors are triggered."
She drug over a trash can an stood on it. I was confused until I saw her remove a ceiling tile and point at a box.
"Even a small flame should set if off."
I thought she was going to have me flame up but instead she pulled out a lighter and held its flame against it.
Almost immediately the door clicked.
"Theres your ticket out just up the stairs and to the left."
"Thanks Claire." I tried to force a smile before I opened the door to leave.
"If anyone asks you forced me to bring you up here." She muttered before running off.
I quickly pulled my hood up and stepped out the door. I ran up the stairs and out of the building.
Sure enough Claire was right about it raining outside. Except I would say it was pouring instead of raining.
I zipped up my leather jacket and began to walk home.
Thunder boomed through the streets as cars rushed through the puddles. There were a few street lights flickered as they were trying to figure out if it was dark enough to be on.
You'd think that the sound of the rain alone would be loud enough to drown out my footsteps, but every step felt as if it were as loud as my heart beat.
At this point my shoes were completely soaked and my feet were freezing because of it. I was cold in general right now, but as soon as I get home I can warm up.
I just had to prove that he was wrong. There is no way they'd actually leave right?
Once I was almost at the house I saw that the livingroom light was on, so I started to head to the door.
"El? Is that you?" I stopped in my tracks and turned to see Owen looking confused. "Oh I'm sorry I thought you were my friend."
I reached up and touched my face. Sure enough I had forgotten to take off my mask.
"Wait are you that new hero?" His face lit up brighter than the street lights. "Oh what's the name..."
"Shining dragon there you are..." I quickly turned to see Melodic Mood walking over to us, but she appeared to be wearing a wig.
I coughed and prepared to try and disguise my voice.
"I thought I saw the villain go into this house." I mumbled in a slightly lower tone of voice.
"Are you sure you're still in good shape to fight?" She quickly asked before turning to Owen. "I'm sorry kid for your saftey I have to ask you to please head home."
"Yes ma'am..." Owen mumbled quickly before turning around and running acrythe street to his house.
"I dont appreciate you using Lightspeed to trick me." She looked irritated.
"Please just let me check on them." I stepped closer to the steps of the door. "I promise it will just be an in and out thing."
She sighed and looked around.
"Ok let's go inside." She carefully walked over to me as if she were worried I try to run. "Atleast its dry in there."
I quickly ran up to the door and swung it open before stepping inside.
