*POV change to Shining dragon*
"I'm sorry about how emotional I got last night..." I said finally breaking our awkward silence while we ate breakfast. "I didn't..."
"I'm not upset." Mood almost immediately cut me off. "After some thinking I understand why you were upset. I would be too if the rules were reversed, but I dont want you thinking you aren't worth anything."
She stopped eating and moved to where she was now sitting directly beside me.
She looked like she was about to say something else but her phone went off before she could.
"Hey we should probably get going so we can talk to Kit's parents before the graduation."
Right we have things to do.
I gently nodded my head before grabbing my mask.
What was she about to say?
"Are you ready?" She asked with a smile.
"Yeah."
We quickly put the dishes in the sink and I said goodbye to Mozart before we headed out to Mood's car.
After while we were at the school where Mit was somewhat patiently waiting on her lion.
"Hey Kit." I shouted as I got out of Mood's car.
"Shining!" The energetic girl beamed and ran over to me. "Come on we gotta hurry before my dad goes to work." She said before pushing me back into Mood's car.
I can definitely say the weirdest part of the day was silently riding in mood's across while she followed a kid riding a lion to their home.
"Is there anything I should expect for tonight's graduation?" I asked softly to break the silence.
"There isn't really much to it. There is a speech, we repeat the heroes oath, and then we get our ID cards." She said as she pulled into a small driveway. "Then afterwards there will be a press conference but there will only be us there so it shouldn't last long."
Kit walked over to the car and knocked on the window.
"Are you guys coming in?" She asked sweetly.
"We'll be in in a moment." Mood responded after cracking the window open.
"Ok." She ran and sat down on the steps infront of the door next to the giant feline.
"Shining you do know there is a chance they wont let her into the academy right?"
"Why?"
"They rarely ever let anyone under sixteen into the academy, because their powers arent likely to be fully developed for training." She sighed. "There's also a chance they wont think her powers will be useful to them."
Who are they to decide if someone is useful?
I know she meant well by not letting me go in blind, but I couldnt think about the fact they could cast away a child trying to follow their dreams and use their powers for good.
Neither of us said another word as we got out of thw car and walked over to Kit.
"My mom and dad are inside." She grabbed my wrist and pulled me inside with Mood calmly following.
Before long we were seated on a bold orange and blue couch. While a middle age woman sat in a similar chair with a man sitting on the armrest.
Right off the bat I could see Kit looked almost identical copy of her father, except for having her mother's dark hair color.
