Next Wednesday, 4:00 pm...
Today was the day. The day a very large chapter in my life was going to be ending.
It honestly felt surreal. Now thinking back at it, my first day of high school felt like it was only three days ago. How could I be graduating today?! I felt very sad but also very happy for the entire day today.
But as of this moment, I was honestly just very excited. Graduation was in half an hour and I had to get ready.
Since there was going to be a school after party for all the graduates afterwards, we were told to dress really nice. I bought a dress just last weekend for this so I was really excited to wear it.
I went to my closet, grabbed my dress and put it on.
When I put it on and looked in the mirror, even though my hair wasn't done or anything, I honestly thought I looked like a princess in this dress. It was just so beautiful!
After getting dressed, I straightened my hair then tied it half up half down. I wanted to do something nicer than that but since I was going to be wearing a graduation cap, there wasn't really a point.
Mom also insisted that she put just a little makeup on me and although I found makeup uncomfortable, I agreed anyway. Just no lipstick or eyeshadow. All mom did was some eyeliner and mascara.
Lastly, some jewelry. I put on a silver arm band as well as a long necklace and some silver hooped earrings.
By the time I finished getting ready fully, it was time to go. I put my graduation gown on but left the hat off for now. I also put on my simple black heels.
I didn't even get to see Jack before leaving since my family was rushing me out with them.
We all got in the car and headed off to school.
We got there by 5:00 pm which was perfect since the ceremony was at 5:30.
Now I was separated from my parents. They went to the guests seats while I went into the school, in the atrium which is where the graduates were supposed to meet. The ceremony was going to be outdoors, right outside the school on the field.
When I got there, I checked in then started looking around for any of my friends.
I ended up finding Shayna and Jeremy together in the large group of graduates.
"Hey guys!" I said, quickly approaching them then hugging both of them at the same time. "Hey!" Jeremy said excitedly, hugging me back right away. "Hey Roni!" Shayna said just as excitedly as she also hugged me.
We pulled back soon after.
"Wow. You look great." Jeremy said with a smile, looking down at my dress before back at me. I smiled right away. "Yeah! I love your dress!" Shayna also said quickly. "Thanks guys! You both look really good as well!" I was quick to say back to both of them while smiling.
