The Next Day... 

I woke up the next morning at around 9 am in the morning. Last night was pretty uncomfortable on the couch but it was definitely worth it if it meant I could stay here with Roni.

After laying on the couch for a bit longer to fully wake up, I went over to the bathroom that was in Roni's room. Luckily there was like three toothbrushes in there so I was able to brush my teeth.

After that, I left the bathroom and went over to Roni. She was still sleeping.

I smiled as I sat down on the chair beside the bed before running my fingers through her hair. I hated seeing her with all these cuts, bruises and burns but I was still happy to know she was ok.

Veronica's P.O.V...

Jack and I got to school after about a ten minute drive. Both of us were excited but also nervous because it was our first day of grade 12. 

Right when we walked into the school together though, we bumped into somebody. 

"Oh, sorr--" Jack started to say until he saw who the person was. I took a small step aside from them as they both looked into each other's eyes, both of their eyes wide. 

I immediately recognized the person as well. She was Jack's ex girlfriend from grade 8.. Anabelle...

Anabelle was the one ex who he didn't lose feelings for when they broke up. He actually really, REALLY liked her and she really liked him as well.

The only reason they ever broke up was because both of them felt as though they were too young to be in a serious relationship as they were only fourteen years old at the time. They were well aware that they REALLY liked each other which scared them because they were too young for something like this.

Also, only a month after their break up, Anabelle ended up moving away anyway.

Anabelle has always been absolutely stunning as well.. She had tanned skin, long straight black hair with curtain bangs, freckles and gorgeous yellow-brown eyes. 

I never saw myself being prettier than her in any way.

The way they were looking at each other... It's like for that small moment, Jack completely forgot I existed.

"Ana..?" Jack spoke quietly, looking dazed as he looked into her eyes. "Jack!" Anabelle's eyes suddenly lit up, a huge smile on her face as she hugged him tight. "Ana! What're you doing here?!" Jack said excitedly as he hugged her back.

Anabelle pulled back a little bit so they could look at each other but their arms stayed around each other.

"My dad's work had him move back to his old location so we all had to move back here." She explained to him. "And god, you have no idea how much I was hoping I'd find you again! When my dad told me the news, you were the first person I thought of." She told him, a soft smile on her face as she ran her fingers through his hair. Jack's smile grew into his signature, adorable grin as he looked down at her.

I could feel my heart sinking slowly as I watched them. I couldn't even bring myself to speak up. But luckily, Jack eventually did that for me. 

It's like he suddenly remembered I was still here when he quickly looked over at me. 

"Oh, u-uh right!" Jack said quickly, pulled back from the hug and standing back beside me. "Ana, you remember Roni, right?" He said to her, his arm going around my waist. "Yeah! Roni, how have you been?" Anabelle said happily, looking over at me. She walked over to me and pulled me into a hug.
