A Week Later...
Ever since last week when Jack and I first disobeyed our parents and ran off to go on a date, we've been continuing to do so. Not everyday, but we've done it like four times now. And each time we did so, we'd get yet another consequence from our parents.
Our parents were getting pretty smart with the consequences but none of them were big enough for us to stop running off. All they were were our parents attempts to keep us apart but none of them worked.
Yesterday we went out for yet another date so when I woke up this morning, we were again at the hillside we've been going to every time to sleep at.
This morning I woke up to Jack slowly running his fingers through my hair. I was lying on top of him, my head on his chest. I tiredly opened my eyes half way to be faced with the side of the sky that has not yet been lit up by the rising sun. I was glad because my eyes weren't blinded. Slowly I lifted my head and looked at Jack. He looked just as tired as me but was a bit more awake.
"Good morning gorgeous..." Jack whispered with an adorable smile as he gently pushed some of my hair behind my ear. "Good morning, baby..." I whispered back, smiling as I kissed him quickly.
"I don't want to go back.." I mumbled, resting my forehead against his. "Me neither.. I wish I could just stay here with you.. forget our parents, forget our reality, just forget everything..." Jack whispered, his fingers tangling into my hair. "That sounds amazing... Are you sure we can't..?" I whispered pleadingly, my hand cupping one side of his face. "I don't think so, sadly..." He whispered, pecking my lips once in between his words.
So unfortunately, a minute or two later, we got up. We grabbed our things then went back to my car. And with that, we were on our way back home.
We got back to our houses at around 7 am.
I walked to the front door, unlocking it then walking in. Right away, I saw mom walk up to me. She looked beyond furious and I obviously wasn't surprised.
"That is it Veronica! This was the final straw!" Mom shouted at me, turning a bit red as well. "What else can you possibly do mom?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow, crossing my arms and leaning back against the front door behind me. "Oh you wanna know?" Mom scoffed, also crossing her arms.
"You are officially grounded every single day after school. No going out AT ALL. In fact, as well as giving me your phone everyday, you're going to give me you car keys too. Just in case if you get any ideas." Mom told me very firmly and strictly. "MOM!" I shouted back, very angerly. "I'd like to see you try and leave now.." Mom said to me with almost a vicious look in her eyes.
"Jack didn't do anything mom! Why are you doing this to me?!" I asked her, my eyes beginning to fill with tears. "When you disobey your parents, you get consequences. And that's all you've been doing this past week so don't even question this Veronica." Mom told me, slightly raising her eyebrow. "No, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about your stupid 'break from the Meyers'." I air quoted. Mom took a pause.
"Go to your room and get ready for school." Mom told me even more firmly as she held her arm out behind her, pointing back towards the stairs. "But mom--" She cut me off. "I said go to your room Roni!" She suddenly shouted at me, her eyes seeming to have a small amount of tears forming in them. "Fine!" I shouted back, kicking off my shoes then pushing past her as I ran away.
I rushed all the way up to my room and slammed the door very hard behind me. I went to my bed and threw myself into it, crying hard into my pillow.
"UGH, YOU'RE SO AGGREVATING!" I shouted into my pillow as tears streamed down my cheeks, soaking into the pillow. Deep down, I knew I didn't mean that but right now I was just so fucking angry that it really felt like I did. I knew my mom was hurting but this was just beyond ridiculous and unfair.
