Another 2 Months Later...
My situation with Jack has definitely not gotten any better as by now we've pretty much reached an end point. We literally never saw each other anymore.
We never walked to or from school anymore because he was always with other people. And after a certain point of just missing so many movie nights and family get-together's it's like he just gave up on trying and stopped showing up to either completely. I saw him with either Ema, the boys or both like everyday in his room and whenever I didn't see them, he wouldn't be in his room either. We completely stopped talking in class either and whenever I texted him, the conversation either wouldn't go very far, or he wouldn't respond at all because he was just too busy.
I remember having a hunch that this would happen near the beginning of the year but I dropped the though quickly because I was just so sure that Jack would never do this to me. But look how wrong I was...
I felt myself beginning to get more and more sad as each day went by without getting even a word from Jack.
These last few days have been really depressing for me since I was now completely without Jack. But if it weren't for Coltin, Shayna and especially Jeremy, I would definitely be in an even worse place in my life. So I was really grateful for all of them but I still missed my best friend like crazy.
But since there was really nothing more I could do, I couldn't help but just let it be. It is how it is I guess...
So, I got out of bed and went to my closet to get dressed for another day at school. I got dressed in an oversized red sweatshirt even though the weather has warmed up by now, and some loose blue, ripped ankle jeans. I put my hair in a high ponytail, my front bangs still hanging down over my forehead, then brushed my teeth.
I headed off to school without taking a second thought that Jack would show up beside me because I knew as a fact now that he wouldn't.
Lunch...
Coltin, Jeremy and Shayna headed off to the cafeteria but I had to head to my locker quickly to put some stuff away. Once I finished doing so, I began walking back to the cafeteria. But to get to the cafeteria, I had to walk by a water fountain. And as I was doing that, I noticed a very familiar looking person filling up their water bottle.
I took a closer look and that's when I realized it was Jackson. I was very surprised to see him completely by himself. He was always with somebody now, considering he was in the popular group.
I stood there frozen for a couple seconds, contemplating whether or not I should go up to him. The brave side of me started walking up to him before I even made a final decision. Since I was behind him, I tapped on his shoulder once I got to him. I immediately regretted what I did because I had no idea what I even wanted to say.
"Dude, chill I told you I'll be there in a second." He said, chuckling as he slowly turned to me, his eyes focused down on the lid to the water bottle he was closing. He looked up from the bottle and at me just a second later and his eyes slightly widened when he saw me.
"Oh hey, it's you." He said with his signature grin. "Yeah, how have you been? It's been so long." I right away realized I was talking to him in my shy voice now. Never in my life have I been shy around him. "I've been great. Things are going perfect with--" Suddenly he was cut off when we both hear a shout behind me, causing me to turn around as well.
"Jack, hurry up man!" It was some super tall guy. I've seen him around with Jack multiple times though. He was part of their group. I turned back to Jack. He gave the guy a quick nod before looking back at me. "Hey so, love to stay and chat but I gotta get going." He said, while beginning to slowly walk away. "R-Right uh.. O-Ok, bye then, I guess.." I said awkwardly and nervously. "Yup, later." He gave a quick wave before walking off.
