Tuesday...
Yesterday Jack sat with Jeremy, Coltin, Shayna and I and it was honestly great. Jack was already friends with Shayna and Coltin so that was good but this time he got along with Jeremy even better. I was hoping they'd become good friends.
And these days, Jack and I obviously weren't completely as close as we used to be. It kind of sucked but I knew we'd get over it eventually. Like there were times where I'd just randomly start talking to him in my shy voice. Pretty much what I'm trying to say is, there was still a thin wall of ice between us that we hadn't yet broken. But I wasn't worried about it.
But anyway, I got out of bed and went to my closet to get dressed. I got dressed in a black tight crop top with some army printed cargo pants. I left my hair down, brushed my teeth then met up with Jack outside. Yeah, we started going to school and walking back together again. So, we went to school.
In our first period class, we just decided to stay sitting with the people we were sitting with on the first day of school. So I continued to sit with Coltin.
Lunch...
I went to my locker like usual after class and switched out my binders. While I was doing so, I saw from the corner of my eye that someone was speed walking toward me. I looked to my right and saw that it was Ema again. Oh no...
"So now you're friends with him again? Are you freaking serious?" She asked me, clearly sounding pissed as she crossed her arms. I shut my locker and turned to her. "You don't decide who's in my life and who isn't." I told her firmly, crossing my arms as well. "Well I do if that person is my ex who I still want back!" She told me loudly, her eyebrows furrowing in an angry way.
"Look, I've known Jack for WAY longer than you and I can clearly tell when he's done with someone. And he's definitely done with you. But I don't blame him, you truly deserve it." I told her, my shyness completely leaving my body apparently. "Excuse me?!" She looked very offended.
"I guess I didn't slap enough sense into you last time.." She said as she began lifting her hand. My eyes squeezed shut and my head turned to the side as I saw her hand charging towards me. But even after like three seconds, I still felt nothing. My eyes slowly opened and my head turned back forward.
I was very surprised when I saw Jack standing behind Ema, holding her wrist tightly to stop her from hitting me. But I got a little concerned when I saw Jack's facial expression. His face was red, veins popping out in his neck which clearly showed how angry he was.
"Don't you fucking dare." He spoke slowly but firmly, sounding much more intimidating. He put her hand down. "Jack, don't worry about it. It's fine." I told him quickly, knowing he was getting more mad than necessary.
"No, it's not fine at all." He turned Ema to face him. "If you ever lay even a finger on her, I promise you, you'll regret it more than anything." He told her firmly, giving her a very mad but intense look. She looked speechless. "Just leave.." He said, stepping aside to allow her to walk away. She sped away quickly.
"I'm so sorry about her, Roni.." He sighed, giving me a quick side hug. "It's alright, it's not your fault." I said to him with a small smile. "Is the bruise from last time better though?" He asked me, grabbing my wrist to look. I furrowed my eyebrows. "How did you know about that?" I asked him, sounding very confused. "Elijah." He smiled. "Right, of course he told you." I rolled my eyes and he chuckled.
"But speaking of Elijah.. I've been meaning to ask you, I kinda want you to meet my friends as well. I promise you, these ones are actually nice." He told me. "I don't know, Jack.. They're like, popular.." I told him nervously. "But still, like I said, they're nice. And all of them kind of already know about you." He told me. "Fine.. But I'm warning you now, I'll probably be awkward.." I sighed. "Great. Let's go." He grabbed my hand and started pulling me.
We went to the cafeteria and Jack found his friends. They were four pretty tall and intimidating looking guys. But Elijah was one of them and I knew he was nice. "Guys, look who I brought." Jack said happily as we walked up to them, his hand still holding mine. All of them looked at me, making me feel very nervous. "Is that Veronica?!" One of them said excitedly which made me chuckle quietly. Jack nodded, laughing.
"Alright Roni, this is Dean, Calum, Griffin and you already met Elijah." He motioned to each guy as he said their name. Dean looked like the most neutral guy here. He was black, his eyes very dark, and his hair was black and styled as short dreads with a fade. Griffin looked like the most friendly guy. he had light skin, his eyes were like grey, and his hair was black, very fluffy on top with short sides. And Calum looked the most intimidating to me even though he looked excited to see me. He was also white, his eyes were hazel/brown, and his hair was strawberry blonde but more on the blonde side, very curly and with a fade.
"Hey guys, you can call me Roni if you want." I smiled, trying my best not to sound nervous. "Bro, finally we get to meet her." Dean said, smiling. "Come sit beside me." Calum said to me, also smiling. "Dude, I'm pretty sure she'd rather sit beside me." Griffin said, raising an eyebrow. "They fight a lot sometimes.." Jack whispered to me. "I can see.." I chuckled quietly. "Just let her choose." Elijah spoke up, laughing.
"Well since you guys are beside each other," I said to Calum and Griffin, walking up to them. "I'll just sit beside both of you." I smiled, grabbing a chair and sitting between both of them. Jack sat across from me, beside Elijah who was beside Dean.
And so, we spent the rest of the lunch with the four of them. And honestly, it was really fun. They were all super nice and funny, I could definitely see myself being close friends with all of them.
That Evening...
So tonight we had our weekly family get-together dinner with Jack's family and it would be the first one since Jack and I became friends again. But I had high hopes that he was going to show up. So far he hasn't let me down so I assumed it'd be the same for our families.
But anyway, it was around 7 pm now so I headed downstairs and me and my family went over to Jack's house. I rang the doorbell and Mr. Meyer answered, greeting all of us before letting us in.
We went to their backyard where Jack and Paisley were at. I went over to go greet Jack and Paisley, giving both of them a quick hug. "Happy to be back?" I asked Jack with a smile as we took our seats beside each other. "Very." I smiled, his dimples very prominent.
Soon after, Mrs. Meyer walked out to the backyard. She greeted everyone before coming to where I was sitting. "Hi Mrs. Meyer." I said with a big smile, getting up from my seat and hugging her. "Hi honey." She hugged me tightly before pulling back and holding both of my shoulders. "All better now?" She asked me, also with a big smile. "Definitely. Thanks for everything." I told her happily. "Of course." She gave me a small pat on my shoulder before heading to her seat.
So I sat back down. And so, the dinner went on.
