A Week Later...

Ever since that day when I listened to my parents conversation, Jack and I have been trying our best to actually listen to our parents rules, no matter how stupid they were. Again, we didn't break up or stop seeing each other at school, but we didn't try to sneak out anymore either.

Although I've been a good child in my moms eyes as I was following her rules, she still hasn't ben talking to me much. Honestly, I was kind of starting to miss her a little bit. And I felt bad, knowing she was mad at me but I deserved it. Now looking back at it, I really did seem like a pain in the ass to deal with. But at the same time, I still though mom's rules were beyond stupid and unfair.

But anyway, I got out of bed and went to my closet to get dressed. I put on a cropped grey t-shirt along with some black ripped shorts. I tied my hair half up half down, brushed my teeth then went downstairs to leave for school.

As I was walking to the door, I suddenly heard, "Roni." behind me. I turned around to be faced with mom. "Yeah?" I asked her. "Do you have a minute to talk?" She asked me a little quietly. "Sure, I guess.." I shrugged.

Both of us walked to the living room and sat on the sofa beside each other.

"So.. I've noticed that over the past few days, you and Jack haven't been trying to pull anything. And.. I just wanted to let you know that I have noticed it and, I appreciate it." Mom told me, a hint of a smile on her face. Well, this was unexpected.. "Yeah, well.. I-I figured you could use a break.." I said quietly, looking down.

"Well, thank you Roni. I mean it. Ever since you stopped with all that nonsense, I had one less thing to worry about. It's been helping me. Now I can focus more on what to do about your dad." She explained to me, her smile growing a little bit as her hand went on my shoulder. "Yeah, that's why I stopped." I told her.

"Um.. A-And I guess I'm sorry, mom.." I said a little bit awkwardly as I looked up at her. "I can see how I must've been pretty hard to handle.. Don't get me wrong, I still think this 'break from the Meyers' is stupid, no offence, but I'm assuming none of this will end any quicker if I keep disobeying you.." I told her. "Thanks for apologizing." She smiled. "It really shows me that my little girl as actually maturing and growing up. It's so bittersweet.." She said, pinching my cheek a little bit which made me chuckle.

"Keep all this up and you may get your phone back by the end of the week." Mom told me, still smiling as her arm went around me. "Really?! Finally.." I sighed in relief. "Just don't disappoint me." Mom told me firmly. "I'll try." I told her.

"Good girl. Anyway, you should get to school now. Have a good day." Mom said before kissing my cheek.

We said goodbye and I went to school.

Once I got to school, Jack and I met up and greeted each other like usual. We walked inside together and by then, we head to part ways and head to our own classes.

I went up to my English class and took my seat with Lucas. I was happy to see him, he always made me feel better. Also, I wanted to ask him how it's been going with Alena since it's been like two weeks now.

Both of us greeted each other normally as I sat with him.

"So how many dates have you and Alena been on?" I asked him happily. "Five." Lucas answered simply. "How have they been?" I asked him, now excited. "They've actually been really good. I think I'm starting to really like her. We're even going on another one on Friday." He told me while smiling.

"So do you think it could turn into something?" I asked him, even more excited now. "Honestly.. I think it has potential.." He told me a bit quieter, still with a smile. "You have no idea how excited about this I am." I said to him with a grin. He laughed and so did I.
