The Next Day... 

I got out of bed then went to my closet to get dressed. I put on an oversized yellow sweatshirt with some black ripped shorts. I put my hair half up half down, brushed my teeth, then went to school with Jack. 

English...(Jackson's P.O.V) 

I walked into the room and sat at the same seat as yesterday, where Dean was already at. We greeted each other.

The teacher began speaking right when the second bell rang.

"So I know yesterday was the first day, but I'll be giving you a mini partner assignment today that'll be due on Thursday. Don't stress too much about it, it's mostly just for me to see how much you already know." The teacher told everyone. I sighed. Great... 

"Alright, so you can choose your partners now. BUT, choose somebody different than who you'd usually work with." Our teacher told us. Well there went partnering with Dean which made this even worse..

So, I began looking around the room for other potential partners. 

"Ms. Jack and I will be partners." My eyes immediately widened as I heard that familiar voice say this loudly. I looked back forward to see Ema standing, facing the teacher. She looked over at me and smiled. "Alright, Jackson and Ema." The teacher said, writing it down on her clipboard. 

"What the fuck Ema?" I said, a clear hint of anger to my tone as I stood up. She turned to me. "What's the problem?" She asked me, looking confused. "The problem is that I didn't freaking agree to be your partner." I said firmly. 

"It's fine Jack, we both know each other so it'll make everything more simple." She said nonchalantly with a smile. "But still! I don't want to be your partner." I said quickly. "Well look around. Everyone else is taken." She told me.

I looked around the room and she was right. Even Dean and Dara were partnered up. I really had no choice but to stay with Ema.

"So everyone take a seat with your partners and then I'll hand out the assignment sheet." The teacher spoke up. I sighed as I looked back at Ema. She had a mix of a smile and smirk on her face as she waved me over.

I rolled my eyes before grabbing my backpack and walking over to her table. Dara and I switched seats. After everyone sat with their partners, the teacher handed out the assignment and started talking about it.

From the looks of it, the assignment looked pretty easy so that was good at least. Ema and I got to work right away and surprisingly, she stayed on task the entire time.

Lunch... 

For lunch today, I decided to sit with the guys. It's been a while and I missed them so why not.

So when the period ended, Dean and I went downstairs together. After going to each other's lockers, we went to the cafeteria and sat down at an empty table, our conversation not ending the entire time. Soon after, Elijah showed up and sat across from us. Then Calum and Griffin showed up two minutes later and sat at Elijah's side.

All five of us talked normally, laughing our asses off from time to time. It was really fun, I had to do this more often. 

But near the end of lunch, the subject changed when the table fell silent for a couple seconds.

"You know, Jack, I'm pretty surprised you and Roni are still together.."  Calum said randomly, crossing his arms and leaning back on his seat. I furrowed my eyebrows, a confused smile on my face. "Yeah me too." Griffin spoke up. "No way. It was so obvious that Roni's different for him." Elijah said quickly. "Yeah, Eli's right. He obviously likes Roni way more than he ever liked Ema." Dean agreed.
