His bright blue eyes danced with joy as he watched your elegantly dressed figure bounce down the stairs.
Upon seeing the warm gaze of your lover, the happiness in the room was palpable.

Little did he know, the dark secret you were keeping.

"What do you think?"
You asked softly, your hands coming to rest on his shoulders as you embraced your love. His southern accent coming in waves as he spoke with the same gentleness he's had since the day you first met.
"Like I'm staring into the eyes of a goddess"

He'll never forgive me for knowing he's embracing a creature of the night.

"The smooth talking sure is coming out tonight isn't it?"
You laughed softly, kissing McCoy softly before adding
"It might even get you more than just a few kisses"
At that comment, McCoy growled playful in your ear, pulling you into a more intense kiss.
For a moment, all of your troubles were forgotten, until.
McCoys shirt shifted slightly as he leaned down to kiss you, revealing a cross necklace he'd worn since he was a boy. Your vampiric senses immediately went into over drive as you hissed in pain, backing away from the man.
"Why in the devils name are you wearing that?"
You shouted in a huff, trying to cover your face, but as you saw his horrified expression you knew. It's already too late.
Your deep maroon eyes nearly glowed as you looked to him, your very sharp fangs present as you opened your mouth to sigh.
"What the hell are you? No- no that's not possible no"
Tears stung in your eyes, before you nodded your head yes.
"I am a vampire."
You let out a deep breath as you said those words, tears streaming down your cheeks.
In an unexpected turn of events, McCoy grabs his cross necklace and tears it off his neck, tossing it to the floor.
His arms wrapped around you tightly
"Vampire or not. I can never see my girl crying"
Burying your face in his shoulder, you let out all of your emotions in that moment, holding him tightly, the smell of his cigars and body wash calming your overwhelmed senses as you felt your mind resting.
