Chapter 59

~Alyssa's POV~
"I'm sorry..." Dr. Halstead said.
"No...no..." I cried and held my kids close.
"Mama?" Cameron asked.

"Come on she's not dead! Come on please!" I looked up at them and cried.
Dr. Marcel checked her pulse and shined a light on her pupils.

"Time of death... 18:39... I'm so sorry..." he said.
"No no no no no..." I cried.
I looked at my wife, lifeless on the gurney.

I got up and put both my kids down on the chair.
"Baby come on... you're not dead you're not dead!" I cried. I grabbed her hand.

"Alyssa we're so sorry..." Dr. Halstead put his hand on my shoulder.
"Come on breathe god dammit breathe! Get your heart rate going!" I yelled.

"Mama sleeping?" Cameron came over and tugged my pant leg.
I looked down at him and cried.

"Um... I'll explain to you guys later... just.. don't worry for right now..." I told them.
I looked at Brielle's body and cried. I grabbed her hand and put my head down on her and screamed.

After 5 minutes, they covered her body with a sheet and took the kids and I out of the room.
"Can you please keep her body here..? I need to call our families.." I said.

They looked at each other.
"Ok... we'll keep her here... you want the sheet off?" Dr. Marcel asked.
I nodded my head.

"That way it only looks like she's sleeping." I said, looking at her body there.
We got taken to a family room where I just sat down and cried.

"Mommy what happened?" Skylar asked me. I couldn't tell them, I don't think they would understand.
I grabbed both kids and hugged them tight.

"Mama has to sleep ok? She's gonna be sleeping for a long time.." I told them.
"Mama wake up?" Cameron asked me.
"I um.... I don't think so pumpkin... I don't know when she'll wake up..." I said.

I had to call everyone else. I called our siblings first.
I called Oliver first.
Oliver: Hey Lyss, what's up?
Alyssa: hey um.. are you with Jaxson and Greyson?
Oliver: no, I'm at home with Madison and Mason making some dinner, why? Are you crying? Is something wrong?

Alyssa: you all need to come to Med. Get Jaxson, Greyson, and Oakley. I'm gonna call Layla and Addilynn now.
Oliver: wait Lyss, what's wrong?

Alyssa: It's... its Brielle.... She's gone... I'm gonna call Layla and Addilynn, mom, dad, Aunt Stella, Uncle Kelly. I'm gonna call everyone.
Oliver: what? No.... Lyss please don't be joking...

He started crying, I could hear his voice breaking.
Alyssa: listen be strong right now, just get everyone here.
Oliver: o-ok... yea I'll... I'll get everyone...

I hung up the phone with him.
"Mommy... what's wrong?" Skylar asked me.
"Nothing honey.. just go play with the blocks." I said, pointing to a little bin of blocks that was in the room.

I called Layla.
Layla: hey Lyss, what's up?
Alyssa: hey is... is Addilynn with you?
Layla: yea she's with me..what's wrong? Why are you crying?

Alyssa: Brielle um... Brielle's gone.. just get over here to Med quickly.
I could here her voice breaking too.
Layla: oh my... what the.. how?
Alyssa: I'll explain everything, I'm calling the firehouse now...

I hung up the phone, took a deep breath and called my dad.
Casey: hey Alyssa, is everything ok with Bri?
Alyssa: um... you guys need to come over here to Med..
Casey: what happened?
