Flashback

"What would you do if I were to completely destroy Pier's existence in this world including the dreams he uses to connect with you?" Silas asked Asher with an amused expression. On the other hand, the crown prince froze in his spot and fear struck his entire body.

He looked at Silas with a bewildered expression as if the young king had grown two horns on his head and his beautiful face had transformed of that into a monster.

"How...?" Was all that he could manage to stutter out.

It might not be visible but his heart was pounding loudly in his chest right now.

Emotions were mixing in his mind and he did not know what to do. The most prominent one would be fear. He was afraid of what Silas had just said.

"Didn't you think about it, Asher?" Silas then helped himself up the open doorframe of the tower and faced Asher while swaying his feet giddily. The prince had a confused look and Silas smiled more at it.

"When Pier revealed himself to you once more on that one fortunate night in the garden, we thought he had finally moved on in the afterlife. However, there was something always bothering me after that incident." The white-haired king then hummed for a few seconds as if he was waiting for Asher to guess the blind item that he was pertaining to meanwhile Asher still had the dumbfounded look on his face.

"There was something itching my entire core. It wasn't noticeable but whenever I try to focus or cast huge spells, I would be disgruntled by the itching that's happening. I look like a stray dog." He even sighed as he scratched his head.

"That's when I investigated what was happening and found that my brother had been using my magic in secret to create dreams where the both of you could meet." Alerts instantly rose in the prince's mind the moment Silas' face turned displeased.

Silas had an annoyed look and Asher did not want that. He'd rather have Silas plaster on a smile on his face and do whatever wicked things he wanted to do than see the annoyed look as if he was truly itching to get rid of something.

Asher knew the consequences of provoking Silas. He had seen it all for the past year they had been interacting with each other while the latter was under the guise of Pier Belmiunde.

He was ruthless and unmerciful. When he wanted something gone, he would do it in all of his power just to get rid of that specific thing and that's what Asher feared the most.

The dreams... The dreams were the only thing that was keeping the both of them connected. He did not want the dreams to be erased. He did not want the secret connection between him and Pier to vanish just like that.

"Quite sly of him, no?"

"S-Silas..." He cowered in fear but still did not run away even though his entire existence and probably his ancestors were telling him to do so right now.

"C-Can't... Can't you just let it happen?" Asher was afraid of what was coming out of this conversation.

He knew it wouldn't be good but he also knew that he had to settle this because even though Pier was Silas' brother, there could be a possibility that the young king would erase his brother's existence to his liking.

"You mean the dreams?"

"Yes." Asher breathed deep and exhaled long.

"Hmmm..." Silas then went back into swinging his feet and pretending to think about the question Asher asked.
