In the middle of a room lay a red carpet that led to the altar. The surrounding was quiet and dark. Small rays of moonlight cascaded through the windows down to the golden floor creating a shadow that resembled the window that blocked it. The majority of light that illuminated the room came from the burning candles whose small streams of dancing smoke gave a breath of tranquility to the place.
"May the light's blessing be upon you," Gideon whispered in return to those who greeted him while he was making his way to the front table where there were a few vacant seats for the people who still haven't arrived yet.
He looked around and saw the room was indeed decorated in gold and black.
Literally.
Black and gold light orbs flew around the place as if they were dancing with the non-existent breeze. The chandeliers were shining a faint golden light upon the room the pillars were painted with a mixture of gold and black colors that intertwined as if they were perfectly made for each other. The body of the candles were painted black as to match the golden gleam they provide. Even the golden ceiling of the room was covered by the black shadow of the sky.
Gideon had never seen this kind of set up in a gathering before back when he was still living in Taron as a knight. There are usually bright and highly contrasting colors that gave liveliness to a gathering hosted by a noble which others would attend. However, it was different here.
Especially this one.
He knew that gold and black were the colors that the two kings share.
His master, Silas, possessed the only light attribute in the world while the other king, Ciaran, was bound to be the master of darkness. To say it was beautiful would be an understatement. He never thought that such rich and well-defined colors would go so well together that it was better than the bright colors.
"Brother!" A child called to him from one of the seats and he saw Caleb calling him over with his hands. Gideon immediately went to where the child was and sat beside him.
"It's beautiful here, isn't it?" Caleb asked and Gideon subconsciously nodded his head while still looking around because he was taking in all of the wonderful designs.
Indeed, the vampires knew their style.
"I can't wait to see the new member of the Royal Family!" The young child spoke again in a much livelier manner and this time, Gideon paid attention to his brother. "Me too," he responded and his eyes darted to the golden throne on the middle of the room.
Today was the day that the new addition to the Royal Family would be conceived.
At first, Gideon was confused about such thing because it was impossible to conceive a child with the two kings. However, he soon took his thoughts back when he remembered...
There was nothing impossible with the two kings.
King Ciaran Fenrir and King Silas Gregory were two beings who stood at the top of the pyramid overseeing the rest of the world while possessing the greatest powers of the world.
Creating a child from their own bloodline would not be an issue.
"What do you think would he look like, brother?"
"I am not quite sure. Though I am sure the new royalty would be of greatest beauty."
"Agreed."
The two turned to look at the voice that chimed in their conversation and they saw King Caldor, or what was known in the kingdom, as Fluffy, standing just right behind Gideon with a prim and proper look.
