A/N: Cheers for the 100 chapters on The Refuge of Fate!

Music from the orchestra filled the room. People danced left and right with their chosen partners. Servants roamed the room wearing their prescribed uniforms carrying trays and carts for the nobles who sat leisurely as they talked with one another.
The room was divided into two stories. The first one was for the ballroom and dancing floor while the second room was where most of the nobles who did not want to partake in dancing stayed. One of those was the young master of the House of Masters from the Taron Kingdom.
Pier Belmiunde leaned on the railings of the balcony using his arms and sipped on the glass of wine in his hand. Of course, the ever-so-frequent looks from the people who attended the gathering were apparent. As a matter of fact, it might even be the reason why the second floor was crowded. It was because the young master was present here.
They all gathered in the second floor to take a look at the majestic young master who seemed to know everything and was good at everything.
However, no one dared to approach him. Everyone left him alone as they either felt too insignificant to talk with someone whose status was on par with a royal or they just appreciated the view of him drinking wine silently while looking at the garden just right outside the ballroom they were at.
His white hair fluttered when the chilly winds passed by him but he did not react. That made the noblewoman scream and yell internally at how manly and cool he looked.
The young master then looked inside and instantly, all eyes that were looking at him darted in various directions.
No one was bold enough to meet his gaze nor interact with him.
"Young master." Or is that so?
A man with golden hair stood in front of him with his own glass of wine and he raised it with a smile.
"I greet His Royal Highness, Prince Faustino," Pier lowered his head in respect to the man's status and for a second, Faust almost made a face at the action because, despite the action being of the norm especially when talking to a prince, he knew who had a bigger status between the two of them.
This man, Pier Belmiunde, was literally a king in disguise. He is the ruler of a hidden nation that houses vampires of unknown number. His arsenal of magic is so overwhelming that Faust is even surprised he wasn't feeling uneasy around Pier's presence. The moment he met Pier again back at the Taron Kingdom, his stomach was churning because of the excessive authority and power he exuded but now, it looked like he was just a normal human who is able to use great magic.
Discarding the thought in his head, he decided to go along with the king's antics.
"Raise your head, Pier." The young master followed and the conversation flowed between them like a running stream.
Faust was a great conversationalist, similar to Pier. He knows how to handle an audience and call the shots when something needs to be directed.
"I heard the festival's commencement was postponed by a day. Any reason why?" Pier spoke as Faust copied his movements and leaned on the railings of the balcony they stood on.
Since they knew there was no one in earshot to hear their conversation, Pier dropped the honorifics and talked with Faust casually.
"Well, I don't know the exact details since no one was filling me on it but I heard it has to do something with what happened the other day." Silence ensued between the two men which Faust thought was Pier urging him to speak more. But before he could, the young master shook his head and chuckled.
