The sound of crickets reverberated around the dark garden. The cold winds of fall danced around the place freely without binds holding them back. His hair moved along the zephyrs in which he did not mind at all.

He simply leaned back on the metal chair that he recalled stood around this area. It would be nice to have a little bit of music playing as he enjoyed the cold surroundings but it would be impossible considering there is no one awake right now.

It would be absurd of him to request for something ridiculous when people are sleeping.

But that's not what he was really looking forward to right now. A few minutes from now, the person he was expecting to appear would finally be here and they would have this discussion.

To be honest, he really did not want to meet this person. He wasn't anticipating any of it in the slightest. He was scared about what would his fate be now that he is about to meet the person who was the bridge of all of these events.

But unfortunately, his silent and secret wish to the heavens was unheard when he heard the bushes behind him rattle and shake as if someone was emerging from it.

Soon enough, he felt a presence. A person was standing in front of him and he immediately knew who it was just by the aura the person was emitting alone.

"You came," he greeted first but the other person who just appeared did not respond. He was already expecting this but he wanted to avoid any of the topics they were already bound to discuss.

"I didn't really expect you to come but-"

"Cut the bullshit, Asher. What are you doing?" The person's vulgar words echoed through the peaceful garden like a wildfire that burned everything in its path.

Silas, the man standing in front of the crown prince, looked at Asher with disdain. It was because of the ridiculous fit Asher was wearing.

The crown prince had a poorly made cloak on top of his suit and the cloak covered his face. Since his head was facing downward, the young king really couldn't see Asher's expression. However, he already had a clue what happened.

"N-Nothing... I just didn't want anyone to notice I was sneaking out late at night..." Asher responded in a weak voice which made Silas' eyebrow raise in question.

If Asher was already stupid in his perspective, he looked much more stupid right now.

"Since when did you care about people not noticing your trips?" Silas inquired because he couldn't understand why Asher was acting this way.

As a matter of fact, he expected Asher would greet him with at least some powerful mages to help him in case things turned for the worse but for the first time, Asher defied his expectation.

The cowardly prince did not bring any guard to protect him against the vile king.

"..." Asher was silent.

He did not want to look up because when he does, Silas would know what happened.

"I... I want to thank you, Silas, for giving me a chance to be with Pier..." He started speaking with stuttering in between a few words. It was evident how nervous he was but Silas allowed him to continue speaking.

"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have had the chance to reconcile with Pier. I am grateful..."

"I didn't give you anything."

That made Asher chuckle.

Of course, how could he be still this delusional after everything? But shaking the thought out, he smiled. He admired how Silas loved his brother even though they haven't known each other that much either.
