It was the last thing San thought he'd needed, but after a night of talking about useless shit, drinking—though Mingi had not let him touch any more alcohol—and just getting out of his head for a while, he felt like he could breathe for the first time since Wooyoung's ordeal.

He was not under any misconceptions however that it was the lemon lime water and work talk that had done it.

He knew Mingi's angelic words and reason had been the reason he'd been able to feel through the constant churning in his gut making him feel like he'd run out of time. The disgusting feeling had been growing and festering like mould, poisoning him from the inside, making everything feel like he had to have answers now—yesterday— Weeks ago.

The sickening guilt and failed sense of responsibility had been killing him from the inside out, and he hadn't been able to think of much else outside the looming sense of guilt hanging over his head.

Being able to breathe felt like the one blessing Mingi had always given him, and when he had come to him in that bar and given him not only a shoulder to cry on, but a soul upon which to share his pain... Had held him the way he needed to be held, and had gently helped him to soothe the nauseating churn within him until it melted away into nothing.

He could feel Mingi's presence a step behind him as he climbed the stairs to their shared studio, Yunho just a few paces back again, and in the dark, he thought it felt comforting. Mingi and Yunho were both so different. Perhaps even polar opposites—Mingi soft and gentle and tender and physically intimate, while Yunho was minimal and perhaps the least likely person in any room to offer out physical touch.

However both of them cared, and in their own ways, they had supported him... Cut their holiday short to come to him when they didn't have to... He'd seen the way Yunho's eyes had glassed over... The way he'd looked so torn, seeing him a mess... The way he always seemed to become defensive over him when he was upset... Blunt and abrupt, determined to prove that in his eyes, he still saw him as someone worth defending so passionately.

Even if he wasn't so sure it was warranted...

'Min,' he said, turning just before he reached the landing. 'You can go with Yun if you want,' he said, feeling bad. 'It's still technically your holiday...'

Mingi shook his head. 'San stop trying to convince me to leave you alone. It's not happening.'

Feeling guilt hit strong, he glanced over his friend's shoulder at Yunho...

However he was surprised to see that while the brunette always seemed to be rather unhappy about letting them stay together, this time, there wasn't a single objection on his face.

'San,' Yunho said, passing the bag he was carrying from one hand to the other as he gently took the keys from Mingi's fingers. He climbed the last steps up onto the landing and put the keys into the door lock. 'It's fine. We just spent days together.'

'Spoken by a man who has potentially the worst separation and codependency issues I've ever seen when it comes to Mingi,' he muttered, rolling his eyes. 'Said almost as if you're not going to melt down the instant you leave him here.'
