Questioning whether it was even his place to be present, when San stepped back into the studio apartment and cautiously made his way inside, his heart fucking ached in his chest seeing the way Wooyoung and Hongjoong were sitting on the end of the bed, the blonde dressed in his home jeans and a hoodie he recognised as his own.

But when his heart throbbed, it wasn't in relief...

No, it was in some kind of warped sense of horror, because yes, Wooyoung was sitting up with his hands in his Hyung's lap, but although his eyes were open, he seemed so unnaturally distant—not at all present or aware of anything, or anyone, around him.

That much became obvious as Hongjoong looked up and met his eyes, smiling smally from across the room.

'San-ah, do you want to come keep Woo company?' Hongjoong asked, his voice somehow fucking calm.

Swallowing hard, his gaze caught on the way Wooyoung's eyes were down, off to the side, his lashes slowly blinking, but not reacting at all to the voice of his Hyung beside him like he'd expected him to...

He didn't realise he hadn't moved, until he felt an encouraging hand on his back—Seonghwa.

And so taking a deep, deep steadying breath, he nodded, crossing the room to sit on the bed beside his beautiful boyfriend—his boyfriend, that didn't even move to look at him, as he brushed his side.

'Woo...' he breathed, feeling his already stinging eyes start to prickle as he stared at the side of his vacant face. One hand on the small of his back, he tried to push back the onslaught of voices in his head telling him he was woefully unprepared and under-educated to be able to know what Wooyoung needed in that moment. He looked so far away...

'Are you okay?' he whispered, brushing his thumb over the bottom of his spine as he rested his other hand over one of his boyfriend's in his lap...

Nothing...

It was like he hadn't said a word... Wasn't even touching him...

Something jolted inside of him when suddenly, Hongjoong reached out and took his wrist, guiding his hand up until it rested delicately upon Wooyoung's cheek.

'Gently guide his gaze to you,' Hongjoong said calmly, helping him to tenderly turn Wooyoung's head towards him.

He felt a lump form quickly in his throat as he saw the disorientated look in those pretty brown eyes he was so in love with...

However the moment Wooyoung's gaze fell upon him...

It took too long for him to even seem to notice he was looking at him. He didn't react for the longest time, so distant and far away.

However brushing his thumb over Wooyoung's fair cheek, he noticed his pretty irises flicker slightly, as though he'd finally seen him, and slowly...

Slowly, Wooyoung's gaze moved to him...

His abdomen...

His chest...
