Dragged to a house party belonging to someone he'd never even heard of, Jae sat on a couch and drank from a beer bottle that was almost empty. It was his second. Or was it his third? He didn't really care to keep count, so it could have been his fifth for all he knew.
He'd come with Kim and Sangwoo—the latter to his surprise. However not at all surprising, was that after not even five minutes, the brunette had gotten a call from his wusband in Seoul, and with nothing but Sam in his head, he'd left as quickly as he'd come.
Sometime thereafter, Kim had been drawn away into the crowd by a group of girls all frothing at the mouths.
He huffed, rolling his eyes. Why am I even here?
For the thousandth time since leaving his door, he checked his phone, paranoid that something was going on at home. He was like that a fair bit these days—paranoid.
He laughed spitefully at himself. Maybe I should quit drinking.
He took another swig.
'Where the hell's Kim?' he muttered, glancing at his phone. He'd been gone for fucking hours. Okay. Maybe not hours. But nearly an hour. Or maybe just more then.
Running his hand back through his hair, he grated his fingertips over his scalp as he looked around. There were plenty of people dancing, but he honestly wasn't in the fucking mood to dance like he was eighteen again, and there were also a lot of people smoking. Perhaps if his mom had died years ago and he had no more reasons to give a fuck about what he did with his life or his health, he would have walked right up and joined them.
However letting out a huff, he rolled his eyes at himself, looking away and into the strobing lights, wondering whether they'd send him blind. Kim had dragged him along to mingle and talk to people. Find things in common and bond.
But honestly, he couldn't have felt more different and out of place surrounded by nineteen year old college kids vaping smoke bubbles and dancing through their lucid procrastina—
'Oh my gosh, hey!'
Snapped from his thoughts, he looked up to see an extremely pretty girl parting through the crowd in the dark strobing room, staring straight at him, and if there was any doubt of who she was talking to, when he looked around and saw there was no one else around, he sat up straighter...
She was so pretty... Unconventionally pretty, yes, but still incredibly beautiful... She wore sneakers and baggy non-fitting jeans with a high necked shirt under a hoodie...
She had a glowing wristband on, the same one Kim had given him to get into the party...
She also had very short hair and bangs over her eyes...
