Keys in the door, pushing inside, the flat was quiet when Yunho came home. Placing Mittens down onto the ground, watching her immediately dart off, likely doing the same thing he too was about to do—go looking for Mingi—he took off his shoes and left his things by the door, ruffling his hair. It was wet from walking through the rain to get from work to the carpark.
The weather was miserable, but for some reason, it had put him in a mood to come home and cuddle with Mingi. Maybe they'd huddled and watched the rain together one too many times. Or maybe he just wanted to hug him anyway.
Either way, he paid his bag a glance by the door, eyeing the front where he knew his father's ring was inside. He'd nearly had a heart attack in the lunch room as he'd sat at the table with the little box in front of him, staring at it while Mittens had been playing in his lap. She'd pounced towards the box, and he'd tasted fear as he leapt to hold her back.
His Sunbae had laughed.
He'd been a little more stressed than that.
Either way, the thought of the ring made his lips threaten to turn up. He had no idea how the hell he would ever give it to him, but perhaps the best way was to simply do what he'd always done... Spring it out with zero forethought and zero warning...
He frowned as he noticed a bag strewn on the floor, and so curiously, he knelt down and picked it up—a little drinking yogurt falling out and onto the floor as he did. 'Hmm?' he wondered, picking it up and looking over it.
However just as he set the bottle and the bag onto the kitchen counter, he heard a sniff and looked up towards their open bedroom door.
'Min?' he called out. He'd half expected him to be on their makeshift couch, but empty, he wandered through the flat and peered towards their bed as soon as it came into view...
Only, he wasn't there, either.
'Min?' he asked, moving towards the bathroom. He unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt as he wandered through their bedroom, and glancing towards the vanity as he stepped through the door, and then the toilet as it came into view, he was almost starting to think he'd been hearing things when he didn't see Mingi. Since the shower wasn't running, he almost didn't bother to look inside.
However he paused when strangely, he noticed the bottom half of the glass shower walls were wet. That was odd. Not even really meaning to glance inside—feet already taking him out of the bathroom—first, he registered the absence of a person inside...
Until he caught a flash of dark brown far lower than he'd expected...
When he stopped and deliberately stared down, he saw Mingi sitting in the corner, and his stomach dropped.
'Mingi,' he breathed, immediately swinging open the door and dropping down before him. He was sitting in the corner leaning against the walls, but although his clothes were sopping wet, he seemed like some time had passed since he'd been under the water. His knees were up and he was leaning his elbows onto them, resting his head in his hands, and altogether, he looked fucking exhausted.
