Wooyoung wanted to scream.
How, the hell, did I get here?
It was nice, sitting in his boyfriend's lap by the lake near their apartment with a little cup of ice cream, but it was ruined, by the fact that his brother, and his brother's devil, were sitting beside them.
Thankfully, they were not touching. He might have seen them far closer before 👀, but not in broad daylight when his patience was already worn so thin it nearly ceased to exist.
So much for our date, he thought, glancing at San's arm around his stomach. He pouted. It would have been so nice to sit together, watching the ducks waddle up out of the water to them for food.
'I didn't know this place was here,' he heard the devil say, moreso to Yeosang as they sat side by side—Jongho's jacket around his brother's shoulders making him look like he was swimming in it.
He refused to look at them, and pretended not to hear. He already wasn't stoked about having him there in the first place.
'This is where Joong's husband proposed to him,' Yeosang replied calmly, voice kind of tender as he talked with him.
He scowled out at the water and the swans. He wished he wouldn't have told him that. It was their family's business... Was nothing to do with him...
San's thumb slipped under his sweater and rubbed over his bare skin, warm against him, and so clearly calming him down.
He huffed. This was the last way he'd wanted to spend his day. He'd rather suffer twelve hours of therapy than sit there in the devil's presence. However in his silent fuming rage, he must have missed something the devil had said, and suddenly, Yeosang laughed, such an open, genuine, bright laugh, and it was enough to make him look across at him...
The first thing he saw, was how bright his face was. God, he'd not seen him so wholeheartedly happy like that in a long time. People scoffed at the notion, but he swore, Yeosang was glowing. Knees half pulled up in front of him, ice cream resting against his thighs, he looked imperfectly perfect, just the way he was.
Just the way he'd always seen him to be. Perfect. His happy Sangie...
'Woo,' Yeosang suddenly said, reaching out an arm and swishing it in their direction to get his attention. 'Remember when Joong pushed you in the lake years ago?'
A tinge of amusement niggled its way into his anger as he immediately flashed back to when there'd been a little timber deck built over the edge of the pond without railings, and in the apex of summer when him and Hongjoong had been bickering over whose boyfriend was most eye roll worthy, as soon as he'd done an impression of Hongjoong's then boyfriend complaining that he didn't want to wear condoms because they were "too confusing to wear," in horror, his Hyung had shoved him off the deck, straight into the pond weed.
