'I can't wait to see her again,' came Seonghwa's father's voice through the phone line.
Blinking lazily through the low light in their bedroom, Hongjoong arched his neck one last time to check on Nabi in her crib beside their bed, before resigning to turn over and roll towards his husband, letting his forehead bump into his shoulder.
He hadn't really been paying too much attention to their phone call. Of course, it was impossible to ignore completely, but he'd tried his best to focus elsewhere. He'd had a relatively okay day at work, coming home to have dinner with Seonghwa, Yeosang and Nabi. He hadn't been in a particularly intense hurry to ruin it by feeling sick to his stomach, just as they were going to bed.
'I'm sure Nabi can't wait either,' Seonghwa said, voice fond as he glanced over to her crib where she was fast asleep.
'Well, I should let you go. Tell your husband I'm thinking of him.'
He felt partially guilty for not particularly having wanted to talk to him through the call, simply because he felt stressed as fuck at the thought of the man's wife being the woman he'd ordered out of his home. 'Thank you, Abonnim~' he replied though as nicely as he could manage. He did like Mr. Park. He just felt awkward as hell.
Especially laying nearly naked in bed next to his son after they'd literally just fucked in the shower not fifteen minutes before he'd graced them with the call.
'Oh you're still there, Hongjoong, good. I hope work is treating you well, son.'
He smiled, despite it not being able to be seen, replying, 'thank you, it has been good. Have a nice night~'
'Night, dad,' Seonghwa said, voice all warm, and just as the line cut off, Seonghwa hummed, dumping his phone onto the bedside before slipping all the way down beside him and ushering him into his arms.
He rested his head upon his shoulder and let his eyelids fall heavy. 'That was nice of him to call,' he said, though he wasn't sure where he was going with it. He figured he needed to say something though.
Seonghwa hummed, nodding against him. 'Mm,' he replied, though it almost felt like his mind was elsewhere...
A pang of guilt nipped at his heels as he asked, 'are you thinking about your mom?'
'Hmm?' he replied, confusion lacing his voice as he leant back a little to see him. 'No? Should I be?'
He frowned. 'I guess not... You were thinking something though.' He'd seen it. He was positive.
Quiet fell between them for a long few moments, nothing but the sound of Seonghwa's hand brushing over his back sounding around them.
However while he'd been thinking about all the things Seonghwa could have possibly been thinking about, what he finally said, wasn't anything of what he'd expected.
