At Amanda's Apartment
Amanda comes home to see her Apartment door open.
Amanda: Who's there?
Woman: Amanda, it's me.
Amanda: Oh, my God, Kim.
Kim: Hi to you too. I called, but--
Amanda: How did you get in here?
Kim: I made a key last time I was here. I hope you don't mind.
Amanda: It's 10 PM. Why do you have sunglasses on?
She takes them off.
Amanda: (Sighs) Oh, no. Is it Jeff? He hit you?
Kim: I-- All right, just stop being a cop for a second, okay? I got good news. I'm pregnant. You're gonna be an aunt.
[Laughs]
In the Living Room
Amanda: Oh. And Jeff is the father. You told me you were done with him.
Kim: Well, I was, until Thanksgiving.
Amanda: Does he know about the baby?
Kim: Yes. He didn't mean to hurt me.
He just lost his temper.
Amanda: And does Jeff know you're in New York?
Kim: Yeah. I told him it was over, but I think he's on his way here. He won't listen to me.
Amanda: He'll listen to me. Get some sleep. I'll take the couch.
Kim: I'm so lucky to have you, Amanda.
Amanda: Hmph.
