The Next Night-Saturday

Jane's at the bar alone. She told everyone she wanted to be. She starts talking to a woman named Stefanie Adams. The woman ends up spiking her drink.

Stefanie Adams: Come on. I'm just parked around the corner. Come on. I don't trust valets. I don't. Come on.

Jane: Thank you.

At Home the Next Morning

Maura: Jane! Hey, Jane! Where's Jane? We've got a homicide. She's not answering her phone.

Lindsay: Oh, she got home late around 5:00 A.M.

Maura: They found bones at the new mall site.

Lindsay: Too bad. I wanted to shop there.

Maura: Check this out.

Lindsay: What are you doing?

Maura: Jane and I have been watching self-defense videos. Ooh, I feel so empowered!

Lindsay: I can see why. You're so good at it. Maybe she went to get some coffee.

She calls Jane's cell. It rings in the living room.

Maura: Jane?

Jane: Hello?

Maura: Hey, Jane. Did I wake you?

Jane: Uh well, let me see. I'm talking to you on the phone.

Maura: Yeah. What happened last night?

Jane: I don't know. I don't know, but my head is killing me.

Maura: That's it? Not a common hangover? Can you get her a cup of coffee? Are you okay?

At The Crime Scene

Frost: That is ugly.

Korsak: Oh, come on. He's not even bleeding.

Frost: I meant the car.

Korsak: There are those that consider the Chevrolet citation a classic.

Frost: Yeah, a classic mistake. It's one of the 50 worst cars ever made. Which means you owned one. Yeah.

Korsak: So? That car required more maintenance than any of my wives. Jane is wearing what she had on when she left last night.

Frost: You can wear the same thing if it's to the walk of shame.

Maura: Hey, watch yourself.

Lindsay: All right, what have we got?

Frost: Adult female, mid to late 30s.
Meter maid found her around 7:00 A.M. Keys are still in the ignition.

Korsak: No drag marks outside the vehicle.

Lindsay: Oh, so, she was killed inside the car.

Jane: It looks like she was punched in the throat.

Lindsay: Maura, what do you think?

Jane: Uh, is it bright out here?

Lindsay: Uh, did you guys get an I.D.?

Frost: Not yet. No. I ran the plates. Car's registered to a Dorothy MacAllister, deceased. Her son sold the car for cash last week and didn't get a name.

Korsak: Half priced drinks at the open bar last night.

Maura: Body's not in full rigor. Time of death within the last eight hours.

Jane looks into the car and jumps back.

Lindsay: Jane, what is it?

Korsak: There's a lot of bruising right there.

Lindsay: Oh, is that someone you met last night?

Jane: Yeah.

Lindsay: When's the last time you saw her?

Jane: Uh..

Frost: Uh, Lindsay?

He shows her Jane's police badge.

Lindsay: Jane, what is your badge doing in the victim's car?

Jane: I don't know.
