The Same Morning

Jane and Maura are running and they run to Boston Joes.

Jane: Why can't we be like them? Look, they're so sweet and simple.

Frost: Oh, morning.

Maura: Are you helping Neda?

Jane: Or just flirting?

They laughs.

Neda: Flirting. You're gonna get me in trouble. Two low-fat flat lattes coming up.

Jane: Thank you.
Maura: Thank you.

Frost: Thanks for being so nice to her.
She worries every time she sees you.

Jane: Why? Because she called me a "bitch" the first time she met me? (laughing) I've already forgotten it.

Maura: You know what? In fairness to Neda, she did think that you threw your hot coffee on a stranger.

Jane: See?

Neda: Your mom is so great, Jane.

Jane: How do you know my mom? Don't tell me she's cheating on her espresso machine and buying her coffee here.

Neda laughs.

Neda: No, I met her at the Division One café.

Frost: Angela is letting Neda use it as a model for her master's thesis.

Maura: Oh? What's your thesis?

Neda: It's a business plan to turn Angela's drinks anhealy homemade food into a chain.

Jane: Maybe Ma will make it rich after all.

Neda laughs.

Neda: Well, it's all theoretical.

Frost: No, it isn't. You've been helping her integrate more vegan recipes into her menu.

Jane: What? No. Don't do that.

They laugh again. Their cellphones vibrate and chime.

Jane: Coffee party's over. Frost, will you give us a ride back to our place so we can change?

Frost: Sure thing.

Jane: Thanks, Neda.
Maura: Thank you.

Frost: See you later.

They kiss and they leave.
