At Rory and Kate's House

Jane: And Steve wasn't having any issues with anyone at work?

Lindsay: Disagreements with co-workers? People he managed?

Rory: No. Nothing. Business was smooth. Steve was Mr. Nice guy, just like in high school.

Jane: Uh, we do need to talk to Emily.

Kate: She's upstairs with the children.

Emily: They're asleep. I'll tell you anything you need to know.

Kate: Do you want me to stay?

Lindsay: It'd be better if we spoke to Emily alone.

Kate: All right, well..We'll be in the kitchen if you need us, okay?

Jane: I'm so, so sorry for your loss.

Emily: Thank you.

Jane: Was Steve having problems with anyone? Anyone that he might have run into at the reunion?

Emily: No. He was so excited about the reunion. Steve loved high school. We all did, right?

Lindsay: Right. What about at work?

Emily: You know how he was. Everybody loved Steve. (Voice breaking) Everybody.

Jane: How was your marriage? Were you and Steve having any problems?

Emily: We were happy. We were the couple that everyone wanted to be.
I mean.. It was a perfect life. (she cries) Oh, Jane. How am I gonna go on without him? (sobbing)

The Next Morning

Jane and Maura walk into the kitchen in towels from their shower. They get a surprise from Casey.

Casey: Hey, there.

Jane&Maura: Oh, my-

They laugh.

Jane: What are you doing in our house?

Casey: You left the web chat on. Thought I'd say hello, find out how the reunion was.

Jane: "Oh, Casey. It -- it was awful."
She breathes deeply. "Steve Sanner was murdered last night."

Casey: What the hell?

Jane: We left early, and -- and he was shot on the football field a few hours later.

Casey: That's crazy. Wasn't he married to that cheerleader? Um, Emily someone -- the one with the, um..

Jane: The one with the, um..High A.
P. Scores? - No. No. Hmm, that's not it.
Let's see. Okay. The one with the soccer scholarship? No, that's not it, either. Hmm..

Maura softly chuckles.

Casey: Okay, you know what I was gonna say. Wasn't she a friend of yours?

Jane: Yeah, she was until she became "the one with the big boobs."

Casey: Was Rory Graham there? He and Steve had a business together.

Jane: Yes, Rory was there. He and his head barely fit in the gym.

Casey: Well, maybe they had a falling-out.

Jane: I don't think so, but, you know, we're looking into it. Which, speaking of, Maura and I have to go to work.

Casey: Like that?

Jane: No, we were gonna take both towels off. It's "naked day" at BDP.
