Chapter 49:Back at BPD

Korsak hangs up the phone.

Korsak: My guy in Southie says he's not hearing anything.

Frost: I've tried every CI I have. No ones got anything on her.

Jane: We should be out there looking for her!

Korsak: We have no idea where to start. Are you okay?

Jane: Yeah, just a stomach ache. (Her cellphone rings and she answers it.) It's a blocked I.D. Whatever you want, I can get it. Baby? Are you..Are you okay? Can you get to the house? I'll-I'll be right there.

She hangs up. Frost and Korsak stand up.

Jane: No she's -she's okay. She's okay.

At the House

Jane is pouring Maura cereal.

Maura: He had a gentleness I...I wasn't expecting.

Jane: Well, he's wanted for about, oh, a dozen not-so-gentle murders. He's a charismatic killer, you know? It's not like you haven't seen that animal before. He's dangerous.

Maura: I don't believe that. I mean, he risked his life to say goodbye to Colin.

Jane: Baby, don't tell me that you're finally letting emotion run that big brain.

Maura: I don't know who I am anymore.

Jane: Come on. You're the same ridiculously smart, amazing, goofy person that you were before. I mean, knowing that he is the source of the sperm doesn't change that.

Maura: Well, don't be so sure. Technically you did just say my father was a killer.

Jane: MNH-MNH, MNH-MNH. No. I said the sperm donor is a killer.

Maura: Patrick Doyle wants me to feed him information about the case.

Jane: (scoffs) Yeah, I bet he does. That's why he's back-revenge.

Maura: I don't know. I'm supposed to call him with Colin's killer once we find out who it is.

She puts the phone on the counter. Someone knocks on her front door. Jane goes to her gun.

Frankie: Janie, open up. Open up. It's Frankie.

She opens the door.

Jane: What?

Frankie: Janie, I know it's the middle of the night, but I'm- Oh. Maura. Hi.

She waves.

Jane: What are you doing here?

Frankie: Dads lost his mind. He's driving me crazy. I'm gonna kill him.

Jane: Can't this wait?

Frankie: I got him a job at The Dirty Robber. I thought I was doing him a favor and he asked me for help. So, I helped him. I'd just finished soldering the final section when the water main bursts. Then he tells me it's my fault!

Jane: Okay.

Frankie: And the waters coming down and he's yelling-

Jane: Frankie, stop it! This is not the night for crazy Rizzoli Family drama.

Maura: Sure it is. I could use a distraction and I happen to know a thing or two about copper flux.

Jane: Oh,do you, show off. Well, so do I. I'm the daughter of a plumber.

They go to the robber to help.
