Elizabeth had decided that this year for Halloween, she was going to be the stereotypical Angel. Last year, she went all out, but she wasn't quite feeling Halloween this year, for multiple reasons.
After Mattheo's abrupt outburst, that he was in fact bringing a date. Elizabeth decided that she would too, not because she wanted to date anyone but because she wanted to show him how it felt. Yes, she was aware she'd told him to live his life, but after he told her that he wasn't interested, it was quite a shock to the system.
With her mind in overdrive as she tried to think about who would piss him off the most, two options came to mind. Adrian Pucey or Jay Garcia. Neither were that great but quite frankly, Adrian would probably be killed by her brother before he could even say quidditch, so, she decided to ask Jay. It was certainly not a good idea because he'd definitely see it as a chance to make a pass but she would make it very clear, that this was just as friends. Mattheo didn't have to know that though.
She hunted the school high and low, only to find the obnoxious boy in the courtyard, smoking a cigarette. With a flat face and puffed out chest, she approached him.
"Why hello" Jay smirked.
"Stop it. I'm only here because-well I think we got off on the wrong foot and I'd like to invite you to the Slytherin Halloween party tonight, with me AS FRIENDS" Elizabeth exaggerated that part.
"As friends...got it. Sure why not" The boy shrugged.
"It's fancy dress so...do something" Elizabeth motioned to his body before turning on her heel and walking away.
Oh god. What did I do. Elizabeth was mumbling under her breath the whole walk to transfiguration.
The whole lesson was rather a blur as Elizabeth questioned whether or not she should find Jay and tell him to forget it. Matter of fact, she was so distracted that Mcgonagall had given her a detention for next week and Elizabeth couldn't even argue with that, she knew she wasn't listening.
With a huff, she picked up her bag, meeting her friends outside of the classroom.
"What's going on with you today?" Pansy asked, a deep crease between her eyebrows.
"Ughhh" Elizabeth just groaned, letting her head fall onto Pansy's shoulder.
"Lizzy are you alright" Mattheo's face grew full of worry as he placed a hand on her back.
"No" Elizabeth huffed, standing up straight and dragging her feet with her as she followed her friends down the corridor.
"What happened?" Theo asked with a chuckle.
"Well...I um-have a date" Elizabeth rushed out, making everyone's eyebrows furrow.
"You have a what?" Draco asked.
"A date" Elizabeth spoke clearly, watching as the boys faces turned into one of humour. "What's funny?" Elizabeth growled.
"Just how..." Enzo couldn't even finish his sentence.
"Just how...you think Mattheo won't murder any boy who walks through that door with you" Blaise got out with a laugh.
