A//N: I'm so sorry for this chapter. It's a heartbreaker.

The large glass vase came hurtling towards Elizabeth's head but thanks to Theo's quick reflexes, she was pulled out of the way, landing on top of Theo on the marble floor.

"Fuck" Elizabeth grumbled.

"Are you okay?" Theo mumbled, looking at her with worry in his eyes.

"Just dandy" Elizabeth faked a smile as she stumbled over her own feet.

"You lie girl" Mattheo's father now stood a mere metre away from her, his wand in his grip as he looked her over with pure disgust.

"I never lie" Elizabeth smirked. The rage was visible on his face and it bought her more joy than she could imagine.

"I knew I should've killed you the first time I saw you" the man spat towards her. "Even though it would be a shame to waste such a fine thing" his eyes roamed over Elizabeth's body, making her feel sick and within a second, Theo was at her side, his own wand drawn as his jaw clenched.

"Nott...does it seem worthy to lose your life...for her?" Riddle senior chuckled, throwing his head back.

"Losing my life for her, would be an honour" Theo smirked, watching in his peripheral vision as Elizabeth smiled.

"Then...so it shall" Mattheo's father twirled his wand, a stream of green light emitting from it. Making Theo and Elizabeth both jump out of the way. The plaster on the walls crumbled, spraying debris across the room.

"Beth!" Theo called out, letting out a relieved sigh when he heard her cough.

"Asshole" Elizabeth muttered before raising her wand "confringo!" She watched as the man gracefully slid out of the way, her spell only creating more mess to cover to floor.

"Petrificus totalus!" Theo threw the full body freezing spell, missing Riddle senior by a few feet only.

"You measly children believe you can beat me?" The man chuckled. "Incarcerous" the tight binding ropes, encased Elizabeth's body, squeezing at her throat. Her hands writhed as she tried to loosen its grasp, but it was no use. She could feel the air leaving her lungs, black spots covering her vision.

"Reducto!" Theo's spell touched the ground, just below Mattheo's father's feet, sending him flying back into the wall. A big enough distraction to make him drop his hex, allowing Elizabeth to suck in a breath. She clawed at the rope, discarding it to the side as she rolled onto her front, heaving and spluttering.

"Beth" Theo ran to her side, his hand running up and down her spine as he tired to ease her pain.

"I'm-okay" she managed to croak out, slowly climbing to her feet.

"Where is he?" Theo asked, his voice wavering as he looked around the destroyed room.

"I don't-..."

"Crucio!"

"Theo!" Elizabeth squealed as she watched his body thrash on the ground, his face screwed up in pain as the man tortured him. With no remorse.

"Stop it!" Elizabeth pleaded, tears welling in her vision as she placed her hands on Theo's arms.

Mattheo's father removed the spell, stepping over Theo's exhausted body. He'd slipped into an unconscious state, the only thing easing Elizabeth's nerves were the small breaths she could see him taking.

Riddle senior pressed forwards, making Elizabeth crawl backwards on her elbows. His foot came out, pinning her wrist down to the ground with incredible pressure.

A scream fell from Elizabeth's lips as she felt her bones splinter and crack and in her moment of weakness, his hand wrapped around her wand, pulling it from her grasp and snapping it, right in front of her face.

"Silly silly, Elizabeth....you were foolish to think" *kick* "that you could beat me".

Elizabeth's free hand grasped at her ribs, where his shoe had just collided harshly. Whimpers fell from her lips, she knew. This is how she would die.

"It's been a pleasure, dear girl" he smirked devishly as he removed his foot from her wrist and instead, pressed it onto the middle of her chest. Her small hands clawed at his leg, trying to remove the pressure from her sternum but it was no use, she had no strength left.

"Goodbye...Elizabeth Riddle" he pointed his wand at her face. Her eyes wide as she stared at the end of his wand.

"Avada-..."

"No!!"

"...-kedavra"

A burst of green light filled the room, momentarily blinding Elizabeth but as it faded, her eyes fluttered.

Mattheo's father was knocked out at her feet but as she turned her head, her eyes met with the lifeless ones of Theodore Nott.

"Theo-no,no-NO!!" Elizabeth kept her broken wrist pinned to her chest, scooting across the floor on her side. Her hand brushed his cheek, it was cold, so cold.

His hazel eyes were open, but he wasn't there, he was gone. Dead.

Her ears rang as a blood curdling scream fell from her lips. She'd never felt pain like it. The broken wrist, was nothing compared to this.

Her friend. Her goofy, selfless, loving, caring, brave friend was gone.

He died to save her, he died so that she could live but it wasn't meant to be like this. It should have been her.

"T-Theo...please-y-you weren't supposed to die...it was meant to be me-come back, come back!" Elizabeth's small fist pounded against his chest as she sobbed onto his shoulder. "I love you" she muttered through ragged breaths. Clinging to his body with all the might she had left.

She needed to go, but she wouldn't leave him here. She couldn't leave him here. She'd never passed her apparition lesson's, but right now, she couldn't care less if she crashed into a building. She laced her good hand with his cold one, focusing all of her energy on the place she wanted to go and suddenly, as if powered by her despair, she was no longer in riddle manor, but on the floor boards of Mattheo's dorm. Theo's dorm.

Her loud wails never stopped, not when she saw the familiar surroundings and not when she felt hands grab at her shoulders. She shrugged them off, hanging onto Theo. It should have been her.

Life would never be the same again, for she had lost the person who had always given her the will to continue.

Her Theo. The boy with the brown curls and the hazel eyes. Dead.
