Ch 37 - Crying Woman

Jin was walking back from shopping. He didn't do it during his run because he decided to push himself more, going further field to the next town. So as it was dark and he wanted to treat himself with a sweet, he went shopping during the dark. It may have not been the smartest idea as a 14 year old. But he wanted to satiate his growing sweet tooth. Carrying two shopping bags back to the dojo.

Jin: {I see why kids are scared of the dark. I know these streets well, but lit against the dim orange lighting, in darkness your imagination can't help but run wild.}

Jin thought as he looked at the dim streetlights only providing some sight and contrast to the dark alleys and darkness that seemed to stretch in front of him endlessly. Streets looked the same as if he was trapped in an illusion. Unable to tell the difference between the buildings he passed in the dark.

Jin: Very tripp...

???: HELP ME!

Jin jumped as his shopping bounced in his bags. Hearing the loud scream of a woman coming from somewhere. Looking around and down the alley. But he couldn't see anyone.

???: PLEASE!

Jin looked down the road behind him as he quickly started running with the shopping on his hands. Hearing the scream but when he got closer, it sounded like it was getting further away again.

???: ITS CHASING ME!

Jin looked around in case he was being mistake as a monster again. But he wasn't holding his stuffed Snorlax, he also couldn't see the woman anywhere. Only hearing her loud pitched screams that got closer, then further away.

But as he was running, he wasn't clueless about what was happening. He played chess with someone who was always 10 steps ahead. He was at least 5 steps ahead usually.

Jin: {Someone's planning on attacking me. In this direction, it's the abandoned warehouses. Well, this is a first.}

Jin continued to run, following the voice as he was right, it was leading him to the abandoned warehouses. One large blue building in particular. But Jin wouldn't get caught off guard by a sudden attack either from the fist or a weapon like a bat, even a gun. Jin was on guard as he entered the dimly lit warehouse. Only lit by the holes in its roof and the shining of the moon and stars in a clear night sky.

Jin: Hello? I'm here to save a woman, luring me here to jump me.

???: So you're not an idiot, YOUR COMPLETELY MORONIC!

Jin used Allsight and span to raise his guard or dodge. He was ready for a fist, a bat, a gun, swords, knives and weapons of any variety. But what Jin wasn't ready for was 8 different fists all coming at him at the same time from the same place. Hitting his solid guard as it sent him flying back into the metal wall of the warehouse. His shopping destroyed as he was embedded into the metal wall with a force no human could make. That Jin found hard to endure as he felt the bones in his arm crack.

Falling from the wall as he took deep breaths. He wasn't in pain, not that much. He was confused. Looking at what hit him and it certainly wasn't human. It was what could only be described as a monster. The culmination of many hands, many mouths and many eyes. All warped together into one mass of a vial grotesque monster. A creature Jin hadn't seen before.

Jin: A... A monster?

???: Don't call me that!

???: It fits us perfectly!

???: He's so cute!

Multiple voices from the one creature said from the mouths scattered all over its body. Hands making legs or larger hands. It was hard to tell with how mixed this monster was of body parts.

Jin: {Monster. It's... It's a real monster.}

The monster charged at Jin launching its many hands in one big fists as Jin took deep breaths using Awakening Breath. Launching off and under the beast using Piercing Fang to stab into the monsters flesh as it wailed out in pain. Jin wasn't hesitant to attack it. He wasn't hesitant to hurt it.

He wasn't someone who was hesitant to kill a human if it called for it.

But the hands on its underbelly went to grab him as he used Instant Movement to escape and dash far away. Looking at his hand and the blue blood on it. This thing definitely wasn't human or a joke or anything that could make sense of this situation.

It was a monster.

Jin understood his situation as he did something dangerous. Merging the acceleration on his heartbeat from the Exploding Heart Release Fist style with Awakening Breath from the Fist of Flowing Water, Crushing Rock style. Getting faster far beyond the means of his body as he began to attack the monster.

Punching it with a fist that caused shockwaves and ripped at the flesh of the monster. Breaking its bones and shredding its skin. He dodged its attacks and avoided being grasped by its many hands. It had many eyes so he was always in its sight, but that didn't matter if he couldn't catch up.

???: What is this?!

???: Why is he so strong and fast?!

???: We're going to win!

Jin then jumped over its fist and flipped over it. Going to attack it again in a weak spot he noticed with Allsight. But even if he could think 5 or 100 steps ahead, if you didn't have all the information about someone, you were sure to be walking into a trap as a glowing purple light emanated from in front of Jin. Looked similar to the cultural practices he learned. It looked similar to Youjutsu.

Exploding out of it was hundreds of hands that grabbed Jin and smacked him into the metal roof. Hitting a hole in the roof and pushing him out, then smashing him down back through the metal roof and hard onto the concrete ground. Cracking and breaking it as he coughed up blood from his cracking body.

???: Humans are so stupid!

???: Humans are so tasty!

???: Eat eat eat!

Jin was being crushed into the ground as the monster got closer and closer. Jin tied to get up, but he couldn't. Even surpassing his body the weight of hundreds of hands pushing him down couldn't be overwhelmed by him.

But then he remembered Ban say something.

Ban: That string Jin... is something you should only pull on when you really need it. When you're in great danger. It will... give your body a natural boost of energy, but it will permanently change your life forever.

As Jins eyes looked up at the monster, observing his surroundings and the hands crushing him. He could only smirk.

Jin: {I've always wanted to pull on this thing.}

Jin felt his feelings of Senjutsu. Feeling the string he could always feel. He didn't know what it lead to. But when he pulled on it, everything changed.

Just like Ban said.
