Jin was back to regular Kuoh life and regular routines. He was back at school. He didn't need to study, he had already learned the entire school curriculum during his younger years, so during classes he would close his eyes and sense around school. Passing the boring time. During lunches, Jin participated in clubs and hung out with his friends and two girlfriends Aika and Mittelt. His clubs during lunch were Track and field, Kendo and tennis, oftentimes with Rias accompanied by many stares from others. After school, he went to chess clubs, with his other girlfriend Sona. Other times, times like now, Jin was in his fox form, sitting on someone's lap under a tree.

Sitting on the small lap of a small girl, Koneko.

Though Jin wasn't the only thing Koneko was holding. She was also holding a book on top of Jin's small fox body, but she wasn't reading, she was struggling. Struggling with a subject many so.

Math.

Koneko: Fully simply (X + 8)(X^2 +3)(X - 2).

Jin: X^4 + 6X^3 - 13X^2 + 18X - 48.

Koneko lifted her book and looked down at Jin, a small adorable fox in shock because it was an instant reply to a question she viewed as difficult. Looking at the book she looked at the question number, flicking to the back pages. Flicking to the answer pages, she travelled her finger down the pages and looked at the answer in the curriculum book and it was the exact same. Jin had got it right on the first try, with minimal thought and working out.

Instantly.

Koneko: *Sigh* I'm going to fail my classes.

Koneko hung her head down as it wasn't that long before she would be in Kuoh Academy. It was a school that didn't require entry tests or previous grades, but for a student to maintain good academic levels while in school. After seeing Jin at such a high academic level, didn't exactly inspire confidence in herself.

Jin: No you're not! You just need some more practice. It's not like you can't do it.

Koneko: No, but it takes me ages. I can't spend all my time on low-mark questions when I'm on a test. On top of that, why have you got me revising the low-mark questions? I need to learn how to do the big markers.

Koneko asked as Jin had been teaching Koneko. She told him of her struggle with revising. She couldn't seem to do anything. Not only that, but she didn't like any of the subjects. Mathematics was complicated to her, Languages and Literature were boring, and the sciences to her were pointless as she had no aspirations to study them. She despised biology specifically.

She just couldn't seem to connect with any of them.

Jin: If you can get all the low markers correct consistently, there's almost no question about you passing. But that takes into account you at least try the high markers and even if you don't get them right, you get some marks in them. So while you can do them, you need to be faster in doing them.

Koneko: You're just abnormal. Who studies years ahead as a child?

Jin: Who doesn't study at all and neglects an education? That's abnormal.

Jin retorted as he knew he was an abnormal child, but the same could be said for when Koneko was a child. So as Koneko looked down at Jin, he was in his nine-tailed fox form, completely comfortable on her lap. As always.

Koneko: Touché.

Koneko said letting down her hardback book on the floor. Placing it down so she could slowly caress Jin's fox ears and stroke his soft golden fur. Stroking it made her feel warm, it seemed to make her forget about her stresses and worries. She had stroked many animals, even monsters. But by far Jin had the softest fur.
