At lunch, Ban shared intricate details with Jin about the fascinating abilities of Senjutsu, explaining its history, techniques, and the philosophy behind its practice.
He taught Jin that Senjutsu is the power to control the flow of life energy or Ki. That by using it, and utilising his life energy or Ki, he could strengthen both his internal and external body. Senjutsu was all about manipulating life and the energy within it. Senjutsu and the manipulation of this energy could even cause vegetation to grow or wither around him. Something he was very excited to see. It almost sounded like a magic trick. To make flowers bloom in his hand and all around him.
Ban told Jin that if he trained diligently Senjutsu users were able to sense the Ki and Auras of others, letting them track others from far away distances. To make him even more excited Ban told him that this power could see through illusions by detecting the flow of the aura or Ki of others. But while Jin thought it all as ancient myth he was being taught, everything Ban told him was real.
But as much as Senjutsu could be used for non-combative purposes, it was a tool for combat. Just like a knife was capable of carving or cutting fruits, its purpose was initially made for killing things. Senjutsu was capable of dealing internal damage to others by targeting their blood vessels and internal organs, by disrupting their flow of Ki or severing it, even damaging their spirit and life-force. Ban warned him of the dangers of it, that using this as an attack could result in killing others. That control was the foundation of Senjutsu. Senjutsu is also capable of forcefully putting others to sleep and could be used to extract Curses and poisons from their bodies. Senjutsu can also be used to hide one's presence and avoid detection. Even the use of Touki, a manifestation of one's fighting spirit to enhance his strength, speed, and toughness.
Every word Ban said was amazing to Jin and he only wanted to hear more about it. Hearing it's amazing healing properties of capable of healing someone's physical or mental condition, relieving any fatigue and restoring one's lifespan.
Ban also said Senjutsu could increase the luck of others by controlling the flow of their Ki. But Jin didn't know if he was being serious as he would then laugh telling him how often he used that to win at gambling with his old friends.
But by far, the coolest parts of Ban talking were where he could use Senjutsu to manipulate things related nature, such as mud, earth, and plants.
To Jin, Ban was a very interesting old man, practicing very interesting cultural practices and martial arts. But little did Jin know. This was all real.
But after Lunch it was learning what any normal child would. Mathematics.
Jin needed a proper education and Ban was the one to teach him. But in teaching him, Ban realised that Jin was smart for a 6 year old. Jin had a much more mature demeanour despite his excitement for things such as magic. Jin was something talented, or a prodigy. Which only made him more confused as to why Jins real nature was hidden. Because it wasn't anything bad.
But now it was bed and Jin was in his small room, in his bed. Lying down and looking at the roof. But something about the bed was too hard, uncomfortable, cold. It was too quiet.
Jin: {I... I can't go back.}
Jin stood up out of bed as he walked out of his room. Walking to another door as he opened it. Looking at Ban. But he didn't do anything. He closed the door, leaving back to his room.
For a very uncomfortable night.
Something about it was missing. Someone was missing. He remembered the comfort of his guardians soft body. Her warm body against his. Remembering her gentle breathing and smooth heart rate. But even remembering didn't help him sleep.
It wasn't something to be replaced.
Jins first night alone was uncomfortable. Realising he could never replace the feeling of comfort he felt with his guardian.
