Jin had got back from the station and went home with Mittelt. School wouldn't be on today for the 2nd years so they could head straight home to their new house. Of course, they had to stop off at the Kiryuus residence for the keys which they did, but after that, they walked home. But even down the street, you could see Jins large new home. It was something that made him smile and Mittelt marvelled at it.
Now Jin's new house wasn't the 6-floor, 3-basement, highly technological marvel Sona and Aika initially planned. But Jin could say he had the biggest house on the street. Although he lived on a very empty street. The other side of it was all for sale, failed businesses.
Jin's house was instead 4 floors with 2 basements. While this didn't sound like much of a change, it was remarkably cheaper.
From the outside, the house was a traditional Japanese home, on a much larger size. It was predominantly wooden, with white plaster accents. It had sliding shoji doors and windows to enhance the traditional look, allowing for ample natural light. The roof was of tiered clay tiles with intricate eaves and wooden beams.
Jin: Hmmmmm. It seems a bit out of place.
Mittelt: Who cares?! Look at it! It's awesome! I can't believe I used to live in an old, damp church!
Mittelt said rushing to the strong wooden double-sliding door. Sliding them open to the ground floor, the first floor, the dojo.
Jin stepped into the martial arts dojo, immediately noting its clean, modern aesthetic blended with the traditional elements he requested. The dojo's interior was spacious and well-organized, designed to accommodate various forms of martial arts training. Yet it maintained the same look as the dojo Jin loved.
The one he trained and was raised in with Ban.
The floor was covered in grey padded mats, newer and therefore thicker than before. The walls were padded in black, newer and darker, but matched the previous dojo colour scheme. Just like the last dojo, this one too had a row of sturdy wooden benches that provided seating for students Jin hoped to have someday. However, he wasn't too confident seeing how his past involved beating up martial arts teachers and students.
There were several heavy punching bags suspended from the ceiling, positioned along one wall of the large open room. Then at the far wall, as always there were the shelves and training equipment. All the martial arts weapons and training equipment Jin had ever taken as trophies. Each item would be there, he just needed to move them from Akenos home.
All of that was only on the first floor, as they slid open a door and walked up the stairs. To the second floor of Jin's, Mittelts and Aikas home.
On the second floor of their home, they were welcomed to a spacious entrance hall with wooden flooring, wooden shelves and cabinets for storing footwear and umbrellas. Everything needed for a wet, muddy or snowy day. Mittelt then rushed around the house like an excited, little dog. Rushing to the large living area with tatami mats, a low table, and cushions. Each room had traditional sliding doors as Jin watched Mittelt rush out of the living room to the next.
The dining room was adjacent to the living room, featuring a larger dining table, tatami mats and built-in seating. Blending in was a traditional and modern kitchen. One where Aika could perform her magic. Cooking to be specific, Aikas magic would blow up the kitchen and house. There was wooden cabinetry, a stone sink, and great appliances. A wooden bar for casual meals or drinks. Then Mittelt quickly rushed in and out of the bathroom. A traditional wooden bathing area with a deep soaking tub combined with a shower all in one.
From the second floor, Mittelt rushed to the third as Jin slowly followed her, taking it all in. Mittelt rushed to the Master Bedroom, a spacious room not so traditional. A giant room with a giant bed, for who knows how many people. There were two doors, an en-suite bathroom and the other a large walk-in changing room and closet with many built-in wardrobes. Mittelt checked and her stuff was already in it. Aikas too. On the floor, there were more bedrooms and guest rooms with more bathrooms.
Quickly Mittelt rushed to the fourth floor.
Mittelt: THIS HOUSE IS AMAZING!
Mittelt shouted as the fourth floor was empty, but that was only because Jin didn't know what to put into it. It was space for the future. Room for development. All so he didn't need to move out again for further renovations.
Mittelt then ran back down the stairs and started heading to the basements. Jin didn't need to go down, he already knew what was going to be down there. The first basement had his new studio on. Making his figures and new expansion into the sculpting market. The first basement also doubled down as a storage and utilities floor.
The second basement level had two things. Things Jin didn't need but he knew Mittelt and Aika would like. An Onsen, a comfortable and relaxing area with stone floors, wooden tubs, and natural spring water. Then what Aika called an Entertainment Area, was a multi-purpose room with a home theater setup, game consoles, and a karaoke machine.
Yes. A karaoke machine. Aikas idea.
But it wasn't without its comfort, all seating was comfortable with a modern decor, unlike the traditional house.
This was Jin's new house and as Mittelt jumped into Jin's arms with a smile.
He smiled too.
Things were changing and it wasn't so bad.
