Jin was sitting in class, waiting for the teacher to arrive, for some reason they were late. Rias and Akeno weren't around as they took their leave when the teacher was running really late. Some other students did too. But while Jin sat there wasting away in a boring class, just waiting, Mittelt took the opportunity to sit on his lap. But everyone else remaining looked completely surprised that Jin was gently rubbing her head, petting her and letting her sit on his lap with a smile. But Jin was thinking about very different things. Even during class he never concentrated. Thinking about something else.
Jin: {Martial Arts. Fist of Flowing Water, Crushing Rock. I've already decided I'm not going to change Bans martial arts. It's perfect. Ruining it would be a stain on his legacy. Adding a second part is the only option. But it should make sense. It should have a base. Like Bans martial arts that centre around water, I should make a martial art that compliments his. Bans martial arts centre around water. So mine should centre around... ice? No. Ice doesn't have the qualities or properties to be the foundation of great martial arts. What else compliments water?}
Suddenly the door burst open as Jin looked expectant of a teacher. Holding Mittelt close as she jumped nearly falling off Jins lap and onto the floor. But the person that burst through the door wasn't a teacher. Instead it was another student. A boy wearing the Kuoh Academy school uniform without the jacket like Jin, his sleeves rolled up like Jin, but the boy wore the tie and his shirt looked baggy on him unlike the tight look it had on Jins lean muscular frame.
The boy was a young man with short blond hair with pointed ends. His eyes were of a pencil grey. Yet when Jin looked at him, he sensed the boy was a Devil, one with a Sacred Gear in him.
Jin: {Is he a part of Rias and her peerage? No. I believe Sona described someone like this in her peerage.}
The boy walked up to Jin and Mittelt. Looking at Mittelt and glaring at Jin with eyes that could kill.
???: Stay away from Sona!
Jin: {Guess I was correct.} Who are you?
???: The names Saji and I'm the one that protects Sona from guys like you!
Saji pointed straight at Jins face as he looked at the tip of his finger. Tracing his eyes up it back at Saji. Looking at him in his grey eyes with a stare, one that unnerved him.
Jin: I promise you, there's no one like me. Besides I don't believe you have the right to tell Sona who she hangs out with or not.
Saji looked at eyes that said he wouldn't give up as Jin sighed. Picking up Mittelt and placing her down. Letting her move to the side as Jin stood up. Standing at 6 foot 5 inches compared to Sajis 5 foot 6 inches in height. Jin towered over Saji, but he wasn't backing down.
Saji: You will stay away from Sona. {I won't let you take Sona away from me! I had eyes on her first!}
Jin looked down at Saji and sighed. He couldn't even be bothered to argue with someone who continued repeating the same thing over and over again like a broken record. Turning back around as he went to sit back down. But then Saji pushed Jins back. Only to push himself backwards. But Jin still looked back to see Sajis surprise.
Jin: Tell me what this is really about? It would make no sense for you to try push me just for me to stop being around Sona.
Saji: I... I'M FIGHTING YOU FOR SONA! AT LUNCH ON THE MAIN GROUNDS!
Jin: You? Fight me? Why would I fight you?
Jin said confused as he looked at Saji. But Jin wouldn't doubt his strength. The power of a Sacred Gear was something that shouldn't be underestimated and a Devil was nothing to scoff at either. Stray Devils were insane, a true Devil would likely be harder to fight because they had a sound mind. They could think.
Saji: You... If you don't fight me... everyone will know exactly how pathetically weak you are! {Not fighting me thinking he's already claimed her! There's no way I can lose! I have four pawn pieces! Who cares if he's a Kitsune!}
Jin looked at Saji, but he did something Saji and no one else expected. Jin smirked, one that sent some woman shaking from a feeling deep inside of them, not of fear, and others swooning.
Jin: I'll fight you then. I don't know why we're fighting over Sona, but I'll take your challenge. {He must be strong if he's so confident. The supernatural usually erase memories, so he'll fight me with people around to embarrass me, then erase their memories after he's won. That's your thoughts aren't they. But I won't let you win easily.}
Jin smirked as he completely misunderstood the situation. The fight wasn't a contest of strength. The fight was over a boy in love feeling threatened by someone else. Someone else who his love interest clearly had feelings for. All but clear to Jin.
Saji: GOOD! I'LL SEE YOU AT LUNCH! BE PREPARED TO LOSE!
Saji stormed off as Jin watched, all while the class looked at him. Talking as some people walked out of class to let the new event spread like wildfire within the school.
A first-year student Saji had challenged Jin a second-year student to a fight.
Jin was excited to see what martial arts Devils used. How they fought when they weren't turned into abominations and insane man-eating monsters. He was happy he was going to be fighting Saji.
But he would be unexpectedly disappointed.
