Koneko was in her Nekomanta form. For the first time in many, many years. She couldn't remember being in this form since she was little, even smaller than she was now.
She now had her white cat tail and ears out. Her fur was soft but unlike Jin's tails, hers was sleek in its appearance. In the hug with Jin, she felt peace. She felt the comfort of his warmth. She didn't feel the impulse to hurt others, her energy was flowing its natural flow. It was faster, more efficient and powerful. But it wasn't out of control. Besides her rapidly beating heart, she felt completely normal. More so than ever.
She wasn't hiding it from Jin. Still, she couldn't accept her Nekomanta form straight away. That would take time as Jin said. But embracing the hug with Jin, she wasn't scared of it anymore. She knew not to be scared because everything she was feeling right now was far from something that would cause murder. What she was feeling was nice.
Her tail was a bit restricted in the clothes she was in, but it didn't stop it from wagging about. Free and comfortable, the air embraced it as it swished about. She heard the steady beating of Jin's heart. More so with her cat ears. She could hear his gentle breaths, ticklish against the fur and the sensitive spots of her inner ear.
It did dawn on her that her big sister killed someone that took them in. It dawned on Koneko that her sister abandoned her all of her own will. If not driven out of control by her Nekomanta form.
But the only thought Koneko was having right now was something else.
Koneko: {This... This is nice.}
It was a cat hugging a fox. A fox hugging a cat. A strange pair of a Nekomanta and a Kitsune sitting down together, Koneko on Jin's lap, hugging each other. Anyone who knew of their races and looked at their appearances would have thought the pairing was strange. Their species family was completely contrasting. They were contrasted like cats and dogs. Koneko was 4 foot 6 inches in height compared to Jins 6 foot 7 inches in height.
Yet it was a pairing that worked as Koneko placed her head gently against Jin's chest. Hugging him close.
Koneko: You... You really like me?
Jin: I do. I like you a lot.
Koneko: It isn't just because I'm small, is it?
Koneko gave a small giggle as Jin's heart skipped a beat. She could feel the red blush on his face with her ears. The heat coming from him.
Jin: I hope Mittelt didn't make it seem I like you only for your looks. {I promise I don't only like small girls. Akeno, Rias and Yasaka should be proof enough for that.}
Koneko: Actually, she speaks quite fondly of you. Telling me what you tell her of me. Our time together. Jin...
Koneko looked up at Jin and flashed the biggest smile. Something pure, innocent and bright.
Koneko: I quite like you too.
Yet again, Jin's heart skipped a beat. It probably wasn't a health issue, but with how often women were doing this to him, he probably needed a health check. Yet looking at Koneko he was happy. His only hope was that they could be together so he could make her happier. He knew better than anyone you couldn't forget the past. But he also knew you could move past it and grow from it.
He wanted to make Konekos future happier.
Jin: Shall we finish unpacking, then we can take Hinata and Taiki to the Underworld back to Rias. I promise you'll get your time with them... and me.
Koneko: I... I was thinking... that maybe... maybe I could sleep in the same room as you and the others.
Jin: The same room as me?
