Today was Tuesday, like any other day, Jin was out for lunch. In the Kendo club dojo practicing with a wooden kendo stick as usual. Practicing the moves as usual. But today girls weren't glancing at him or talking to him at all. But that wasn't because they didn't want to. They just weren't here. Because today was Kuoh Academy's Ball Tournament, where classes and groups would compete in games related to ball sports. Basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, baseball. There were many different sports apart of the day. But Jin wasn't too keen on large crowds just yet. He was slowly getting used to them, maybe because he was getting used to different things happening in his life. But if he didn't have to be in a large loud crowd, he wouldn't be.
He asked for the keys of the club leader and went in. Grabbing the equipment and changing. Practicing alone and focused while doing so. But that didn't mean he didn't hear the door open up, with someone walking into the room. Jin turned to look at Kiba walking in. Someone he didn't talk to much, however, they weren't strangers.
Jin: Kiba, what are you doing here?
Kiba: I'm actually here for you. I didn't see you in the first ball games, so I asked around and was told you were here. A perfect opportunity for me to come and fight you.
Jin: {What's this obsession with everyone wanting to fight me? I welcome the challenge but I thought I would be the one initiating fights at school.} Why would you want to fight me? I don't believe I've done anything wrong.
Jin asked as Kiba walked over to the left wall close to the entrance. A few kendo swords left on the floor. Picking one up and swinging it around a bit.
Kiba: No you've done nothing wrong Jin. I'm only curious. Because I've seen a a change in Saji. I've seen him working out and practicing a strange technique. I know he didn't make it himself, then I heard Aika and Sona talking about how you've been teaching others. Aika magic, Mittelt spearmanship, Saji his technique. I then remembered you're a part of the Kendo club. So in teaching so many things, I'm interested in your swordsmanship.
Jin: Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not that good at swordsmanship. It's more of a fun activity to pass the time and satiate my curiosity.
Kiba gave a small smile looking at Jin, getting into stance that looked like he had trained in for years. His stance was square and the kendo sword was held out, a slight bend pointed at the roof but closer toward Jin.
Kiba: I'm just asking for a small spar. I hold no expectations of you, so I promise you won't disappoint me. {I guess my first impression of him was wrong. He doesn't seem like the seducer or playboy type.}
Kiba looked at Jin as he shrugged his shoulders, welcoming the fight as he got into stance. Jins stance was square on with Kiba, his Kendo sword pointing towards Kiba.
Between them there was a quick silence, as both of them looked at each other. But quickly at a speed not at all human, Kiba delivered a diagonal slash down. But Jin seemed to effortlessly block it as Kiba looked at Jins eyes. Ones that were focused on the tip of his blade. Quickly Kiba went to spin and kick Jin. But in an instant Kibas head went flying off his shoulders.
Then a gentle tap of Jins Kendo stick landed on Kibas neck as Jin looked at Kiba. But where he was in front of Kiba, he was not at Kibas right side. Kiba could only stare at where Jin used to be in complete shock with his eyes widening.
Jin: Are we playing for points or until one of us gives up?
Jin asked as Kiba jumped far back away from Jin. Looking at Jin and touching his neck gently, with not a single cut there. Kibas head never went flying off. It was an illusion made in his head of the immense speed he just witnessed, or more precisely couldn't see at all. The kendo sword got to his neck and he couldn't stop it. He was stood there in the same position they clashed in while Jin was now to Kibas side. Jin moved his whole body faster than Kiba could perceive.
Kiba: {What was that?! Was that like my masters style? Was that God Speed? No. It couldn't be.} Did you take advantage of my blinking?
Jin: No clue what you're talking about. But you didn't ask my question. Points...
Jin got into stance and as soon as he did there was a weight to Kiba. A pressure and presence. As if the whole weight of the world stood in front of him, with an insurmountable gap between them. In both skill, power, strength, speed and what felt like everything.
Jin: Or until one of us gives up?
Kiba gulped as he got into stance. Looking at Jin completely relaxed in his style. As if he was born in it. Born to stand in stance and wield a sword. But Kiba knew that wasn't true, because Jin had been teaching people many different things other than the sword.
Kiba: Let's go for 5 points, with you up by one.
Jin: So I just have to get 4 more points. Should be easy enough.
Kiba: {The way he said it, swords are like a toy to him. It's amusing to him and nothing more. Let's prove him otherwise!} I'll make sure you don't find it that easy!
Kiba said throwing the Kendo sword away to Jins shock. These weren't cheap swords and so rudely throwing them could damage them unnecessarily. But Kiba held out his hand as Jin felt a powerful magic force forming.
Kiba: FIRE SWORD!
Kiba shouted out as a sword of intense energy formed. A metallic orange sword with a unique shape was made in Kibas hands. A hand guard around the hilt and two large spikes came from the hand guard.
Kiba: Let's do this Jin!
Kiba said passionately, charging at Jin much faster than any devil he had met.
