Jin was dressed up in a white shirt and black suit trousers. An open collar and open buttons in the top two. Otherwise, it was too restrictive for Jin as he predominantly wore free-moving clothes and stretchy tops. His trousers were suit trousers with a belt Mittelt brought. She dressed him up in a way that "women would drop dead at." Something Jin was very concerned about, as it almost seemed Fallen Angels had an obsession with women dropping dead. But Jin was ready for his dinner date with Sona. Dressed nicely and smelling nice with a cologne that said it smelt like nature.
However, even though Jin was done and ready, it wasn't only him that felt Sona waiting behind the door. Mittelt felt her too, waiting behind the door, a full 10 minutes early. But she stopped Jin from going down. She knew Sona arrived early to calm her nerves. Opening the door now would leave her nervous about the entire date. So Mittelt gave Sona the 10 minutes and as it struck 7 pm. Sona immediately knocked on the double doors of Jin's house, ready for her date. Jin too took a breath as he walked downstairs and to the door. This was his first fancy dinner date as Mittelt called it. His heart was pounding for some reason.
But he had no trouble opening the door. Opening it to look at Sona standing there. They both looked at each other's eyes, crimson and violet. Then they looked at everything else. Sona, just like Jin wasn't dressed to impress. Something comfortable and well-suited for their date. But she was beautiful. Wearing a blue dress held up by string that went over her shoulders. Blue fabric over the side of her shoulder to add an aesthetic. The dress wasn't long, just above her knees. But she was beautiful with it on and the small beaded necklace around her neck.
Jin & Sona: You look beautiful.
Sona blushed crimson as Jin gave a small smile. Happy she thought he looked good as this was his first time dressing up something fancy. But Mittelt who was hiding around the corner tried to hold on to her giggles. Trying not to ruin the moment.
Sona: I mean you look handsome! Handsome! Also, I'm sorry I couldn't wear contacts...
Jin: Don't be. I had no expectations as to what you would wear, and personally, I like your glasses.
Sona blushed more as she held her small blue bag in front of her. She didn't know what to say, she wasn't good with things like this. She had no idea how to date. She could only say one thing with a small smile.
Sona: T-Thank you.
Sona said as she looked down. She has no clue what to do next. How was someone supposed to date? But Jin saw this and took Sona's free hand. Stepping outside with her as the doors closed.
Jin: Shall we go on our date then?
Sona looked up at Jin who was smiling. A date with Sona, he was looking forward to this. No matter what it was, as long as he got to spend time with her, his girlfriend, he was happy. It was the innocence in Jin that Sona smiled at, standing slightly more confidently while holding Jin's hand.
Sona: Yes. Let's go and enjoy our date.
Sona said as she took a deep breath and wrapped her arm around Jin, blushing slightly as she pushed her chest gently against his arm. But as she saw a small rosy look on his face, she smiled. Gaining some more confidence. She knew Jin had gone on a date before. But you couldn't compare the two. That was Jin and Akeno's first date.
This was Jins and Sona's first date. A new experience for the both of them.
Time skip
Jin was sitting in a restaurant. Sitting opposite Sona with their plates of food in front of them. Jin had a nice steak while Sona had a grilled fish, along with a salad.
Normally, when presented with food, Jin would immediately start eating. It would shut him up instantly because he had been trained for years to be silent when eating. But despite being on a date before, despite talking to Sona casually hundreds of times before. Despite how close they were and their relationship.
Both of them were silent. They both didn't know what to say. A fancy dinner setting was something neither of them had ever experienced.
Sona: {Why can't I say anything?! At least start eating Sona! You can do this!}
Sona glanced at her grilled fish, but she couldn't eat. She then glanced up at Jin, he was only gazing at Sona, making her blush as she looked back down at the grilled fish. In an internal conflict with herself and what she could say.
Jin: {You can do this Jin! Just say what Mittelt told you!} So...
Sona looked up at Jin as the conversation was about to start flowing. Happy that Jin was taking the lead on this instead of her. But Jin wasn't too experienced in dinner date talks either.
Jin: How's the weather?
Jin said with a straight face as Sona looked out the window of the fancy restaurant they were in. It was dark out the sky was completely clear. But as Sona looked outside she began to giggle and while Jin may have been confused by it, he smiled slightly. He likes Sona's giggle. For the same reason, Akeno liked his smile, he liked Sona's smile and giggle. They were seen and heard so rarely.
Sona: *Sigh* This is so stupid. Jin, let's just talk like we normally do. This may be a date, we may be girlfriends and boyfriends. But let's talk like we're still friends.
Jin: Sure!
Jin said with a smile. He didn't know why, but Sona seemed, even for a moment, to drift away from Jin after the Kyoto trip. She seemed busy and stressed. But Jin saw the drifting stop. Sona was coming back.
Jin: If we're going to start taking then, why did you seem so against the idea of moving in?
Sona: I wasn't against it. Honestly, I want to. I don't even have a reason not to. When I raised my voice, I wasn't annoyed at you. It's just lately, work has been piling up. The School Council has more work to do because of the School Festival, my parents are still slightly annoyed I nearly jeopardised our relationship and they're on my back more than ever. Then there's the progress of introducing schools for the lower class.
Jin: Oh! How are you doing on that?
Jin asked as Sona had a wish, or more accurately, a dream. In the Underworld, there were classes of Devils, and only for high-class devils and aristocracy, noble devils, was there an opportunity for high education and opportunity to develop themselves. In knowledge and power. Sona wanted to open a school that provided more education opportunities for lower-class devils in the Underworld.
She wanted to help those without the privileges she had. She wanted to elevate the Underworld, starting with the people that made up most of its population.
Sona: It's... It's going as well as ever. Not going anywhere. I tried public funding, low-class devils want an education and if noble-class devils don't want to pay for it, I thought everything would be fine. I created a marketing campaign which amassed money quickly, I was close to the goal. But then the noble devils that disagree with my ideas, many of them as you know, decided to make it a legal issue instead of a financial issue. So I've been stressed out giving all the money I sourced back to everyone who tried to fund public education. Money is easy to receive, but not so easy to give back.
Sona said as every direction she tried to take her idea in, she ultimately met failure. Every time she tried to take her idea somewhere, it was shut down by the nobles of the underworld. The greedy, power-hungry, the selfish, the ignorant and those that resisted change. Only thinking about what the Underworld was, not what it could be.
Jin: Every time you talk about these guys, they sound like an utter piece of work.
Jin said cutting his stake, taking a bite and as Jin began eating, instinctively Sona did too. Beginning to start their dinner date.
Sona: Tell me about it.
Jin: Well I don't know if this means anything since I don't have any power in the Underworld, but I'll always be on your side and if I could, I would help you every way I could.
Sona looked at Jin and gave a soft smile. It wasn't only his hard she loved, it was also his very nature. Ready to do anything to help others. Any way he could.
Sona: It actually means a lot Jin, thank you.
Sona smiled as their date really began. Enjoying their food, and talking like friends.
Because despite their relationship, one as girlfriend and boyfriend. Talking as friends was how they were most comfortable. So they ignored the fancy setting, they ignored their situation and just spoke.
As friends that turned into lovers.
