Ch 101 - Avoided

Mittelt walked downstairs as she looked at Aika and Sona waiting at the door. Where they were smiling, Mittelt glared at them, catching them off guard as she walked out of the gym and locked the door behind her with a key she had. Glaring at the confused Sona and Aika.

Sona: Why did you lock the door? Jins not out yet?

Mittelt: He left early. Nearly 30 minutes ago.

Aika: Why?

Mittelt looked at Sona and Aika in a glare and they genuinely looked confused. As if they themselves didn't know what they did wrong. Mittelt didn't know what they did wrong either, but he knew Jin was annoyed even borderline angry with the both of them. Even if he didn't show it, he went out of his way to avoid them.

Mittelt: All I know is he wants to avoid you two now, I don't know what you did, but I don't care. You've hurt him and I don't want to talk to you either. Because I know Jin wouldn't do anything for no reason. So whether he's woken up to dislike devils or just you two is of no difference to me.

Mittelt went to walk away, leaving the two completely confused and even worried. Mittelt was their friend, but they both knew she loved Jin completely. She wouldn't need a second thought to side with him no matter what was happening. But Mittelt's arm was grabbed by Aika and she wouldn't let go.

Aika: Wait that's not fair! We don't even know what we did wrong! You can't just go saying that if you don't know either!

Mittelt: I don't need to know. Because what I do know is that after Serafall came to the house, Jin clung to me like a wounded puppy, he didn't even speak most of the day just stuck in thought. He didn't let Kiba or Saji in to train. Whatever you did really hurt him. Now get off of me.

Mittelt flung her arm as Aika went stumbling back. Because as small as Mittelt was, she had gotten stronger and the strength of a pawn couldn't keep her in place or hope to hold her back. Beginning to walk again. Walking to school.

Sona: What happened? My sister only went to have Jin sign the deeds to the neighbouring buildings to start construction. She said he didn't sign but I thought that only meant he needed to think about it.

Sona said to Aika but then Mittelt stopped in her tracks. Looking at Aika and Sona with a look that hadn't seen before.

Mittelt: Are you two idiots?

Aika: What?

Mittelt: Did turning into a Devil rot your brain or something?

Aika: Hey! If you know what we did tell us! It's not fair for him to be angry with us when we don't even know what we did!

Mittelt glared at Aika as she took a step back feeling Mittelts power. Now Mittelt was angry but they still didn't know why. Because while it was now obvious to Mittelt, it still wasn't obvious to Aika or Sona.

Mittelt: I... I seriously can't believe you were friends for years. No, I don't even understand how you two like him the way you do but you don't even understand why he's angry. FUCK! I would be angry if I was in his position! I'm angry and I'm not the one whose hard work was just trampled on by his friends!

Sona: What do you mean his hard work was trampled on?

Mittelt: How do you still not understand?! The house Jin works hard to pay for, the house of his dead guardian, the house he worked for from an age no child would normally be working, was going to be destroyed for a house that I can only assume Jin could never afford! Take it from a noble to rub money in someone else's face!

Sona: I DID NO SUCH THING!

Sona said gripping her hands as she shouted at Mittelt, hating the insinuation that she used her power to hurt someone she loved. But Mittelt responded in kind. Gripping her hands but trying her best not to shout.

Mittelt: Of course you did! If Jin didn't know about it, you planned behind his back to change his house! The sale signs on the buildings around are gone so I can only assume someone as rich as you was going to tear down his home and put a mansion on top of it! In front of that, all his hard work for years would mean nothing! You were trying to destroy everything!

Aika: NO WE WEREN'T! We just wanted to make the house bigger so he could take others in! Sona told me she slept over but the bed was barely enough to fit you three! That he offered to sleep in his studio! The only reason my parents won't let me move in with Jin, even if he is up the road, is because they know his place is too small! The only reason he's not sleeping in his studio now with you in his house is because he let you sleep in his bed because you're so small! We only prepared everything so that he would no longer have to worry about his place being too small!

Mittelt looked at Aika as she looked down, walking up to Aika but she didn't look her in her eye. Punching Aika in the nose as she fell to the floor with blood running from her nose. With Sona looking shocked at Mittelt.

Mittelt: FUCK YOU! I'm not sleeping in the bed only because I'm small! I'm sleeping in the bed because that's not just his room anymore! That's our room! That's our bed! And he didn't just let me into his bed because I asked! He wanted to shoulder all my burdens! He wanted to take care of me! That's the whole reason he does everything! That's the whole reason he started working to move out of your house! That's the whole reason he's cared for me and took me in despite my shit first impression! That's why he said he would help you whenever you need Sona! That's why he beat those bullies that hurt you Aika! What you did was the equivalent to spitting on his work! Saying he wasn't strong enough to shoulder the burdens and responsibilities he was currently shouldering! You basically said the house he was raised in for years was too small and not good enough for either of you to even consider living in! It's not that he wouldn't renovate his home! He just can't afford it and you rubbed that in his face!

Mittelt said with tears forming in her eyes and rolling down her face. She couldn't help but see her friends as cruel after how hard Jin worked for years to get to the point where he was. Even if he was talented, Jin put blood, sweat and tears into working hard his whole life. All to get to where he was now. Yet all his hard work was going to be overshadowed by the people he cared for most handing over things to him with a golden spoon in their mouths.

Mittelt: I THOUGHT I WAS SELFISH BUT YOUR ALL FUCKING HORRIBLE! When I had the opportunity to take Jin away and live a happy life with him, I REJECTED IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT OF YOU TWO! But now thinking back I should have said yes to that deal Azazel gave! Because I don't really think you two love him! For you Aika, you treat him more like a tool for your perversion than a friend or someone you love! Sona, is Jin just someone you can use to get out of a political marriage?! How can you have such an intimate moment with him in his house, then want to knock it all down without even telling him first?! How can you two love him and know him for so long, yet not know the most basic thing about him?! So Aika, feel fucking lucky you got to know Jin as long as you did and that I held back on that punch, because if you get off that floor before I'm gone, if you try and make a flimsy excuse for how crap of a person you are. I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!

Mittelt said with tears in her eyes and the complete shock of Sona looking at her. Turning away as she walked down the street and away. Leaving and going out of sight on the way to school.

Leaving Aika to cry sitting on the floor and Sonas' heart to break. Not knowing the extent of which they had hurt Jin until it was shouted at them to their face.
