Jin had read the letter Ban left him and Ban was right. Jin jumped head-first into the supernatural world. He first tested his Senjutsu and Youjutsu in the dojo. The power he could use was completely unnatural to humans, but it was a natural energy of the world around him. He could use it, he could feel an immense energy inside of him and see the flow of Ki in the world. He younger self would have danced around happy. Youjutsu was exactly like magic, he could make illusions and barriers. Honestly, Jin was amazed and happy about his new powers. He was also happy he was taller and his body much more defined, lean with toned muscle.
Of course, Jin told Aika everything. He had nothing to hide. He was a bit worried that she would judge him for killing someone but she didn't see it the same way he did. To her Jin was the victim and held no blame for what happened. It relived him and he showed her cool magic tricks and the blue fire he could feely control.
But jumping head first into the supernatural didn't just mean experimenting with his own powers. Jin had questions he needed answering. So in the darkness it night, a week after he found out what he was. He was going to get answers to his questions. Standing in an alley as he closed his eyes.
Jin: {Please don't let my clothes fall off.}
Jin felt a sensation over his body as a blue glow emanated from him. Shrinking down and down and turning into a small fluffy fox. One with nine fluffy tails with faint red on the end of the tips. Jin opened his eyes as everything looked big around him. But he couldn't help but smile. All of this was way too cool to him. Jumping onto the wall and between the two walls as he jumped up onto the roof of a building.
It didn't feel unnatural that he was now a small adorable fox, in fact, it was very comfortable as the wind ruffled in between his fur. Looking at the Kuoh town lights.
Jin: {Ok. What I need now is to find and see any supernatural being or monster. Should be easy enough.}
Jin used his Senjutus as he sensed all the energy around him. The Ki of others in the busy parts of town, those that were sleeping or those that were getting busy. There were quite a few of those. But what he was looking for was something unnatural. A malformed body that definitely wasn't human.
He was looking for a monster.
Expanding his sense across the entire town. Pinpointing on not too far off in a winding alley. Slowly Jin smiled as he jumped off the roof and onto another. Running in his fox form freely. He even tried to use Instant Movement and it was very much possible despite being very small and on four feet instead of two.
But running across the roofs of buildings, he felt something. He felt free. Everything about him felt more energised. Especially in this form, he felt happier. It was strange but held a warmth inside of him. Jumping from the roof of the building and looking at a spined arched monster with sharp claws. It looked at Jin, a small fox confused until Jin glowed with a blue light.
Glowing bright and growing larger. Spinning and delivering an axe kick to the head of the monster. Crushing it into the concrete of the floor. Human again but in his Kitsune form as he grinned with sharp canines. Looking down at the monster that tried to get up but couldn't as Jin pinned it down with his foot.
Jin: Hopefully you have more sense than the last one. I believe the last one had a multiple personality disorder.
???: GET OF M...
Jin pressed its head deeper into the concrete. He could feel its skull cracking beneath his foot as he crouched down.
Jin: I'll make this simple for you. You tell me what I need to know and I'll let you live. Don't... I'll paint this floor in colour of whatever is circulating in your head.
Jin pressed harder as the monster clawed at the ground groaning in a deep raspy voice.
Jin: First question. What are you exactly? Do vile monsters just exist or are you and that many hands beast related? Maybe experimentation?
???: You don't kno...
Jin pressed a little bit harder on the monster's skull as it screamed out to Jin's amusement.
???: I'M A STRAY DEVIL! A STRAY DEVIL! JUST RELEASE THE PRESSURE A BIT!
Jin: {A stray devil?} What's a regular devil? Do they look as ghastly as you?
???: A DEVIL LIVES IN THE UNDERWORLD! MOST LOOK HUMAN! I JUST LOOK LIKE THIS BECAUSE I REBELLED AGAINST MY MASTER AND THEIR DEMONIC POWER CORRUPTED ME!
Jin looked with interest. Devils were real. Ban mentioned the Christian god so that could only mean Angels are real. But hearing the monster say master, there was a strict hierarchy and even harsher punishment for those that went out of line.
Jin: This world is more interesting than I could imagine. Hey, do you know magic?
???: Y... Oh... OH! HAHAHAHA! YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT DO YOU?! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW MAGIC! YOU'RE JUST FREAKISHLY STRONG! THEN DIE!
The monster shouted. He found it strange that Jin was asking all these questions. How a fox turned into a human. Before he might have realised Jin was a Kitsune. But as a Stray Devil, he wasn't all there mentally just like the last. It was the effects of Demonic Power corrupting him. Of a power he couldn't control.
Quickly as fast as bullets, sharp bone-like spears fired out of its spine at Jin. But as Jin's hand glowed a blue aura, it weaved like a winding river. Catching all the bone spears as he threw them back into the monster's body. It screamed out in pain. But not for long.
As Jin crushed its head under his foot. Burning off the blood and burning the corpse.
Jin felt his lower back and felt that the top of his trousers ripped from his nine tails. Sighing out as he ripped yet another pair.
Jin: Time to learn how to sew. I need to make a small hole for my tails to come out of. One that is not noticeable when I'm not transformed but one where my tails can escape without ripping. Maybe my guardian dressed in a certain way for a reason. Hmmmm.
Jin thought, thinking of altering his appearance slightly. All while turning into a fox and jumping from wall to wall back on the roof. Leaving and enjoying the night of Kuoh.
