Ch 57 - An Invitation

Aika: So she's coming to your house every evening! You sly dog! {It's all going to according to Keikaku!}

Aika grinned while sat on Jins lap. Ginning her perverse evil grin which sent shivers down Jins spine.

Jin: I don't know why you're grinning, but I feel like I should start correcting people. I'm a fox, not a dog.

Sona: Dogs and foxes are part of the same animal family, Canidae. So she's not far off.

Sona said smiling as she moved her skirt and sat down on the bench opposite Jin. Setting her pieces as Jin did his.

Aika: So how's your day Sona?!

Sona: The usual, though I can say my campaigning for student council is going well.

Aika: Wait, aren't you first year? Don't you need to be in the second or third year to do that?

Aika said as that's what one of her older friends that went to Kuoh Academy school for girls said. She too had an interest in the student council but was a first year so she couldn't participate.

Sona: Well, I have certain strings I can pull given my standing. The student council is a favourable position for me and my people. I also have a personal interest in the position.

Sona looked at Jin however he was as always, focused on the board. He could have multitasked. But he preferred doing one task perfectly compared to doing many well.

Aika: Your people?

Sona: My peerage. Devils have these chess...

Aika: OH! The magical pieces that give people Demonic Magic, linking two people as master and servant. Then if they rebel against the master it turns them into a Stray Devil!

Sona was taken back by Aikas knowledge. Looking at Jin but he just moved a piece and went back to look at Sonas pieces. Thinking of all the moves she could make and the ones he could make afterwards.

Sona: Well... yes. But we don't just turn people into Stray Devils because of a little rebellious behaviour. They need to break serious crimes and run away from their masters for that punishment.

Jin: I've met some ones that claim they were abused by their masters. That they ran away and got turned into monsters who can't control themselves.

Sona: I do admit that there is corruption among the nobility of the Underworld. However, you don't see me as someone that would do that will you?

Jin looked up at Sonas violet eyes as she gently blushed. The way he looked up looked elegant. As if by the day he was growing and improving in some way.

Jin: Your a kind person Sona, of course I don't see you as someone that would do such a thing. I was merely making a point. That not all kinds are purely good, and not all are purely evil.

Aika looked at Jin as she smiled. Knowing why he said that after explaining someone of what happened with Mittelt. Not going into too much detail though as it was a private matter of Mittelts.

Sona: I understand. Though I wanted to ask you Jin, do you have any interest in going to school?

Jin: School?

Sona: I know Aika has already decided to go to Kuoh Academy school for girls. But it may not be for just girls much longer. I've been hearing among faculty that the school will be transitioning to accommodate boys too.

Aika: REALLY?!

Aika said surprised as she hugged onto Jin, who watched Sona move her pieces as he moved his. Looking back up at her.

Jin: You would like me to go to a school which in the first year of changing, is guarantied to have next to no boys in besides me and a few others.

Sona: Oh? I didn't picture you as the shy type. {It would be nice if I could see him more often. Play chess more, look at him more... wait what?!}

Sona then blushed as Jin looked at her confused. Wasn't he the one being accused as being shy?

Jin: It's not a matter of being shy or not. It would be a waste of time for someone who works for a living, and I'd been incredibly bored.

Aika: What if I asked you to go for me?

Aika said as she looked at Jin. Looking him in his crimson eyes with a face that tried to resemble a begging puppy. Jin then looked at Sona as she smiled.

Sona: I would also like you to attend. If not for your own benefit, then for me. {Maybe I could ask him to join my peerage. A Rook or Knight piece would fit someone like him well.}

Jin looked at the two of them as he rolled his eyes and took a deep breath out.

Jin: Checkmate.

Sona: Wait... huh?

Sona looked down as Jin looked at Aika and Sonas shocked face. They weren't even playing for that long. It was as if Jin was getting better faster than she was. Though she was still very much a good player for Jin.

Jin: I'll think about it. But no promises.

Sona: As long as you think about it, I'll be happy to wait for your answer.

Aika: WE'RE GOING TO THE SAME SCHOOL!

Sona gave a small giggle as Aika already believed Jin was going to agree to it. But he wasn't too sure yet. School took up a lot of time, so he would have to wait and see.
