Jin was standing in front of his biological parents' graves among the few graves around. Some Youkai live many many years, but that didn't stop them from dying. There were many ways to die besides old age.

But right now, Jin with Kunou grabbing onto him and hugging him with all her might, was about to hear everything. Everything that happened before Jin was born, and what led to everything happening after he was born.

Yasaka: As I said, your mother met your father, a man who had no idea he was supernatural. But before she ever brought him to Urakyoto, she came to me, her best friend. She told me all about him, how he had the most beautiful crimson eyes, a smile that made her heart flutter. He was just a common store clerk but had the most amazing charm. She loved everything about him. From the small glint in his eye to the sound of his voice. She genuinely thought she met her soulmate. Someone she was going to be with forever. But she needed permission to bring him here. Humans, outsiders aren't so easily allowed access into here. This a haven for Youkai and the rule was put in place to protect us. Since he was raised by humans, he could be considered an outsider.

Jin: But you let him in. She was your friend and you were happy for her.

Yasaka nodded, she saw how happy her best friend Hinata was. She had never seen her so happy before. She had never seen her describe someone in a better light. Hinata was in love and only now Yasaka truly realised what Jin meant when he said he didn't regret it.

Yasaka didn't regret letting Taiki in. Even if it could be said to have led Hinata to her death. Hinata was happy, more than ever before and because of everything, she had Jin. Someone she cared for and loved. Yasaka didn't regret a single thing. She could regret making a decision that led to her having something in her life that made her so happy.

Yasaka: He was let in and he marvelled at the supernatural world. Amazed by it. Hinata taught him a lot about the supernatural, but just as she taught him about the supernatural, he showed her the human world. In a depth she had never seen before. Both of them fell in love with each other. Both loved each world, the human one and the supernatural. You would find it hard to see a moment when those two weren't together. Travelling in between the barrier that separates us. Exploring the two small worlds they lived in. Kyoto and Urakyoto. Two years into their relationship they got married. But it wasn't like a traditional Japanese wedding. Taiki was Christian, like his parents. It was a small wedding but it was one I attended. From the beautiful white dress your mother wore to the black suit your father wore, just the look in their eyes you could tell they were truly in love. It was pure and beautiful. I would be lying if I wasn't slightly jealous. But more than anything, I was happy for Hinata. My best friend had found a one-of-a-kind love. Months passed and then you were conceived.

Jin listened to Yasaka as he realised he inherited his crimson eyes from his father. A man the same as him, unknowing of his supernatural nature until much later in life. Loving both of the worlds they had explored and seen.

Yasaka: They were both ecstatic about you. To have a child with one another was like living a dream for them. They... They would have been perfect parents. They would have loved you and cared for you. They... they were perfect. But as you grew, something happened. Something... something happened to you.

Jin: To me?

Jin said surprised as if anything, he thought something would have happened to them. Jin was the one who was alive. Living and healthy. They were the ones who were dead. So to hear something was happening with him before he was even born was a shock.

Yasaka: Yes. Kitsune, are supernatural beings that are much more spiritual and centred around energy, unlike all other supernatural beings. Many supernatural beings can be born without magic or energy and be perfectly fine. But... but that's not the same for Kitsune. You... You were without any power. And... if you continued growing, at a point you would die before you were even born. Without the power that makes us Kitsune, your physical body would've withered away and died.
