Sona: Jin. Would you join my peerage?

Sona asked adjusting her glasses as she looked at Jin. Watching him look at her seriously and adjusting his seated position. To something more comfortable for him. Sitting with his legs crossed.

Jin: You want me to join your peerage?

Sona: Yes. Not only do I believe you're indispensable as an intellectual, but as a Kitsune, your physical abilities and power would help me a lot. On top of that, you are someone I could trust to have by my side. So I would like to give you a place in my peerage.

Sona said confidently. She knew Jin was a Kitsune, which by itself was a rare kind compared to angels, Devils and Fallen Angels. But she didn't know he was a nine tails. She had yet to sense the Sacred Gear in him because she never looked for it. She would never think a Sacred Gear was in someone that wasn't human. But she knew Jin was special. For more than just that, she wanted him by her side.

Jin: I know joining your peerage would turn our friendship, into a master servant relationship.

Sona: I know what you may think fighting so many Stray Devils and not having being raised in the supernatural world. But my peerage members are my friends. Each and every one of them. You would be no different, in fact, I believe you as a very close friend.

Sona said holding her hands together, trying to keep a cool while looking Jin in his crimson eyes that seemed to pierce into her very being.

Jin: I believe you. However, I do not believe people enter such an agreement just because they're friends.

Sona: That's correct. As the heir to the Sitri clan, I want to take you in and support yo...

Jin: No.

Jin said bluntly as Sona was taken aback but the sudden blunt response to her unfinished sentence.

Sona: {Maybe he wants independence.} Then financially I could...

Jin: No.

Jin said which confused Sona. There wasn't much she could offer to Jin, but if many knew about reincarnating into a Devil, they would jump at the offer. She has someone in her peerage that jumped at the offer.

Sona: Jin, if you become part of my peerage. Part Devil. You would live nearly forever. Gain strength you didn't have before. Wings to fly, the ability to communicate with any being regardless of the language. {You could be by my side more.} What would I have to offer you to join my peerage?

Jin thought. Wings sounded cool, but he could use Senjutsu and dense Ki to walk on air. Learning languages was nothing foreign to him. He already spoke English, Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish. That was just from reading books. Though those were some of his undisclosed skills he picked up from reading and learning. Jin was all about gaining his own strength.

And carrying his own burdens.

Jin: Sona, do you see me as less than you or equal?

Sona: Joining my peerage won't mean you...

Jin: Sona. How do you see me? Less than you, or as an equal?

Jin said clearly. Interrupting Sonas fast passed speaking before she could say another thing. Jin's crimson eyes were focused on only her right now.

Sona: As an equal Jin.

Jin smiled, going into his pocket and pulling out a purple silk pouch. Opening it and pulling out a black pawn.

Jin: Do you think I'm your pawn, Sona?

Sona: N-No.

Jin placed the black pawn back into the pouch. Jin knew what her peerage consisted of and what places were left. Sona had told him, rambling about it unknowingly when speaking of her day playing chess.

Jin: Do you think this knight suits me?

Sona looked at Jin's eyes. A knight was a representative of a superior. Looking into Jin's eyes, she could see something. He couldn't represent her ideals. They may have agreed on them, but she could see their methods in reaching them or handling situations would have been all too different. Not only that, Sona wasn't Jins superior.

Sona: I don't.

Jin placed the knight he held back into the pouch and pulled out a black Rook pieces. Holding it up.

Jin: D...

Sona: I understand. I'm sorry I wasted your time.

Sona quickly stood up and went to walk away. But Jin quickly stood up in front of her. Looking down in her violet eyes with his crimson ones.

Jin: What I'm trying to say is, I will not be joining your peerage. But Sona, if you need me, I'll charge into the front lines like a Pawn. I'll be the Bishop that offers you any guidance that you may need. I'll be the Knight that throws myself in dangerous situations to save you. I'll be the Rook that puts myself in front of attack to protect you and I'll be the Queen, one that is always loyal to you.

Sona blushed crimson as she gulped looking up to Jins eye. Listening to him and feeling a sense of euphoria over his body.

Jin: I cannot be apart of your peerage. But I'll be there for you. I only ask of you one thing.

Sona: Y-Yes.

Jin: Could you let Aika be apart of your peerage? I as a martial artist can personally vouch her gymnastiscs which are exceptional, I don't know what the standard is for magic but she studies hard and can already use a variety of spells. She is someone who would be beneficial to you. {With my Sacred Gear, mortality will no longer be a worry, but I refuse to lose Aika.}

Sona looked and smiled as she looked at Jin. Giving him a gentle hug as he slowly embraced it.

Sona: You're pretty greedy. But I'll ask her if she wants to be apart of my peerage. But you... you have to promise you'll stick to the words you just said.

Jin: I can only promise you, but I'll make sure it's a promise I keep.

Sona blushed as Jin held her hand close. Turning completely red as she imagined that he was going to kiss her hand like a king courting a queen. Pulling her hand out of his hands.

Sona: I-I-I... I'M SO SORRY I HAVE TO GO, VERY BUSY!

Sona said running out as Jin watched her leave. Confused but shrugging it off as he picked up his chess pieces, preparing food for his guest.
