You were cleaning out your room at your parents' house because you were moving out this week to get closer to university in Seoul. The long drive was making you crazy, so you made the decision to relocate. As you started to get everything out of your closet, you found an old box from your last few years at school. You opened it, smiling brightly when you saw all your old notebooks in there. You looked through a few of them, dwelling in memories. You sighed and looked back into the box when a USB stick caught your attention. "For y/n" was engraved into it. Your fingers started to shake as you took it out of the box nervously. You hadn't listened to what was on it for years. You looked into the box again and found the letter that came with it right under the spot where the stick was. You also took it out, sadness overcoming you.
You walked towards your laptop, putting the USB stick in and opening the file on it. A sweet melody started to play, and soon your favorite voice in the whole world started to sing sweet words. You felt your eyes burn when you opened the letter again. You hadn't read it since you graduated. You bit your lip as a little tear escaped the corner of your eye.
Dear y/n,
I wrote that song for you and Channie helped me record it. I know I have to go away soon, but I will always be close to you.
Happy birthday, my love.
JisungYou were so sad when you read those words, but still, a smile escaped your lips. You and Jisung were so close back then. Your parents met back in Malaysia and you saw each other almost every day. You grew up together and even moved back to Korea together. Then he started to become an idol, and you supported him with your whole heart. When you two were sixteen, you started dating because you fell for each other hard. Then you graduated and he became famous. He had less time, he was touring and always working, and a year after graduating, he broke up with you. He said you deserved someone with more time, someone who would be there for you when you needed them. You were devastated back then, crying for months on end. It was so bad that your mother considered moving back to Malaysia just to get you away from all the memories. That was when you snapped out of it. You needed to function without him. You never heard of him after that, and you avoided everything that had something to do with Stray Kids like it was religion. You knew that your parents were still close, but you couldn't bring yourself to see them again, too.
You bit your lip. That was almost five years ago, and it still hurt thinking about him. What would you give to see him again, just one more time? You made a decision in this very moment. You would contact him again, just to see what he was up to. You stood up, pausing the track on your laptop and made your way down to the living room. Your mom was watching a show and your dad was out in the garden, mowing the lawn.
"Hey Mom?" you asked a bit shyly.
"What is it, sweetie? Do you need help?" she asked, not looking away from the TV.
"No... I was just wondering. Do you happen to have Jisung's phone number?" you asked. Your mom turned towards you this time.
"You want to contact him?" she asked, surprised.
