You were sitting on a bench in a dog park, watching your golden retriever play with a smaller dog. The sight was so cute that you couldn't suppress a smile. The two fur balls were chasing each other around on the soft grass, with your golden retriever holding back speed every time the little guy ran away. Eventually, they picked up a stick somewhere and were running around with it, until your dog came running toward you, dropping the stick at your feet.
"You want me to throw that?" you asked amused, standing up with the stick in your hands. Your dog barked in response, as if to answer for real. You giggled, throwing the stick as far as you could, and watched them run after it at full speed. They were so adorable! You laughed and sat back down, wondering to whom the little dog belonged.
"Excuse me?" a voice next to you said. You looked up to see the most breathtaking boy you had ever seen. His long dark hair fell into his eyes, and he smiled shyly at you.
"Is this your dog?" he asked, pointing at the two playing dogs. You nodded, unable to bring out a word. "The little one is mine," he smiled. "Can I sit?" He pointed at the empty seat next to you.
"Yeah, sure," you quickly said, your voice nervously shaking. He sat down next to you, leaving a few inches between you.
"I've never seen you here before," he noted. Your two dogs came back with the stick again, and this time, the boy next to you threw it. You smiled as you watched them run after it.
"I just moved here," you answered. "I'm Y/N, by the way."
He smiled at you, and his eyes almost disappeared when he did so. It was so cute. "I'm Hyunjin. What's your dog's name?" he asked curiously.
"That's Lia. She seems to like your dog," you giggled.
"Kkami loves playing with bigger dogs," he smiled. You two fell into casual conversation and learned that you had a lot in common. Soon, both Kkami and Lia were lying next to you, exhausted from playing and ready to go home.
"Maybe we can meet up again? They surely like to play together again," Hyunjin suggested.
"Sure," you smiled, gathering all your courage and taking a pen out of your purse. You looked into his eyes for a moment before grabbing his wrist and writing down your phone number on it. "Just call me," you smiled, feeling yourself blush at your bold move. He just smiled even brighter. You two parted ways, and he called you that same evening.

After that encounter, you two met up at least twice a week at the park with your dogs. Honestly, at this point, it wasn't even for your dogs to play anymore but for you two to spend time together. You had a massive crush on him, but honestly, who wouldn't? This guy was such a flirt! He constantly complimented you, brought food, and loved to tease you until you got all red and shy.
Today, you met up in the park again. He brought a blanket, and you two sat down in the shade under a tree. You put out a bowl of water for Lia and Kkami because it was really hot today, then lay flat on your back.
"It's so hot," you panted.
"I'm sorry. I think it's because of me. Should I leave?" he joked.
You lifted your head to glare at him, but you couldn't suppress a giggle. "You're unbelievable," you laughed.
He lay down next to you, grinning like a maniac. Lia suddenly stood over him, staring at his face before starting to lick it. You giggled as he screamed in surprise.
"Good girl. Get him!" you laughed.
Hyunjin quickly sat up, and Lia happily ran off with Kkami again. "Your dog is crazy," he laughed.
"My dog is crazy? Look at yours!" you said, pointing at Kkami, who was rolling in the grass like crazy.
Hyunjin smiled. "Maybe they're both crazy... do you think they're in love?" he asked curiously.
You giggled. "Maybe," you answered as you looked at the two, now lying down in some shady place together, exhausted from running around. Suddenly, Hyunjin's face hovered over yours.
"They always say pets are like their owners," he said.
You looked up at him, amused, not quite understanding why he told you that. "Kkami even looks like you a little," you said, trying not to blush over the fact that he was so close to you.
Hyunjin groaned and let himself fall back again. You giggled and turned towards him. "What's wrong?" you asked, amused.
He lay there, legs and arms stretched away from his body, eyes closed in agony. "Nothing," he mumbled.
The rest of the day was nice, but Hyunjin seemed a little down. You wanted to question him but soon he bought you two ice cream and was back to his bubbly self. You two went home, and it wasn't until you lay in bed that you understood what he had really said earlier. "Do you think they're in love? They always say pets are like their owners." You shot up in bed. He wasn't... or was he? Lia was lying next to you in bed, looking at you with tired eyes. You quickly grabbed your phone, a sudden rush of confidence creeping through your veins. "Just shoot your shot," you thought to yourself. "Can we talk?" you texted him, hoping he was still awake. It wasn't even a minute until he replied. "Park in 10?"
You came to the park, suddenly feeling rather nervous than confident. Hyunjin was sitting on a bench, already waiting for you. He stood up as soon as he saw you.
"Is everything alright?" he asked, worry in his voice.
"Yes. I just need to tell you—" you started, but paused to think of the right words. "I like you more than a friend," you two suddenly said at the same time. You stared at each other before starting to laugh softly. He took your hands in his carefully.
"I thought about what you said about Kkami and Lia and I just realized what you meant," you confessed.
Hyunjin giggled and pulled you closer. "I thought you were ignoring it on purpose," he said, his hands landing on your waist. This small touch drove you crazy. You shook your head and placed your shaking hands against his chest to steady them a little.
"How could I ignore this?" you asked, your voice now only a whisper.
He looked down at you and slightly bit his bottom lip. "I'm really glad Kkami loves to play with big dogs," he mumbled.
"Me too," you whispered as his face got closer to yours. Was he going to kiss you? You hoped so. But he stopped when your noses touched and just looked you in the eyes closely.
"Hyunjin?" you asked, the second rush of confidence rushing in.
He hummed slightly to signal he was listening.
"Can you kiss me?" you whispered.
Hyunjin smiled before leaning down further, closing the last gap between you two.
