"Hey, babe?" you asked after a while of just sitting on the couch in Chan's studio.
"Yes?" he replied, removing his headphones that he had worn over just one ear, and turning towards you.
"I have a question... it's kind of important," you mumbled, your voice barely above a whisper.
"It's fine. You can ask me anything," Chan said reassuringly, his eyes soft and attentive.
You took a deep breath, your emotions swirling within you. "Would you still love me if I was a worm?" you whispered, your voice quivering slightly.
"What?" he asked, clearly confused by the question.
"Would you?" you pressed further, looking at him with sad eyes.
"How would I have met you if you were a worm?" he asked, still baffled.
Tears began to sting at your eyes. You had just gotten your period, and the first day was always a whirlwind of emotions. "So, no?" you asked sadly, your voice breaking a little.
Chan's confusion melted away as he saw the tears welling up in your eyes. He moved closer to you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "Hey, hey, no need for tears," he said gently. "I'm just trying to understand, okay? Of course, I would still love you, even if you were a worm. I'd probably carry you around in a little jar and make sure you were safe and happy."
You sniffled, a small smile tugging at your lips despite yourself. "Really?"
"Really," he affirmed, wiping away a tear that had escaped down your cheek. "I love you for who you are, not just for what you look like. Even if you were a worm, I'd find a way to keep you close."
You leaned into him, feeling a bit silly but also immensely relieved. "Sorry, I know it's a weird question. I just...I don't know, I get emotional sometimes."
Chan chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "It's okay. We all have our moments. And for the record, I'd love you no matter what. Worm, human, anything in between."
You laughed lightly, the tension easing from your body. "Thanks, Chan. I needed to hear that."
He hugged you tighter. "Anytime, love. Now, how about we get some ice cream and watch a movie? That usually helps, right?"
You nodded, your mood lifting at the thought. "Sounds perfect."
As you both went to the boys dorm and settled back on the couch there with bowls of ice cream, some popcorn and a movie playing, you couldn't help but feel grateful for Chan's understanding and patience. No matter how emotional or irrational you felt, he always knew how to make you feel better.
Just as the movie started, Chan leaned in and whispered, "You know, I'd even write a song about my little worm girlfriend."
You giggled, the absurdity of it all making you feel even lighter. "I'd like to hear that one day."
"Deal," he said, smiling as he kissed your cheek. "Now, let's enjoy the movie."
Halfway through the movie, you looked up at him with a mischievous glint in your eye. "What if you were a bird and I was a worm? Would you eat me?" you whispered.
Chan threw back his head and groaned, but he couldn't help himself and started laughing. "You're crazy, y/n. But I love that about you," he giggled, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to your lips.
You pulled away slightly, pouting. "You didn't answer my question."
Chan sighed dramatically, but there was a twinkle in his eye. "Alright, let's see. If I were a bird and you were a worm, I guess I'd have to become a vegetarian bird. There's no way I'd eat you."
You giggled, feeling a sense of warmth spread through your chest. "A vegetarian bird, huh? I guess that works."
He nodded solemnly. "Absolutely. I'd peck at seeds and berries, and we'd have the best time."
You both burst into laughter at the sheer ridiculousness of the conversation. Chan wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close. "You know, as silly as these questions are, I think they show just how much we mean to each other."
You looked up at him, your heart swelling with affection. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks for always playing along and making me feel better."
"Anytime, love. Anytime," he said, stroking your hair gently.
Just then, the door to the boys' living room creaked open, and Felix peeked in, his curiosity piqued by the sound of laughter. "What's going on in here?" he asked, stepping inside with a playful smirk.
"Just discussing important life questions," Chan replied with a grin.
Felix raised an eyebrow. "Like what?"
"Oh, you know, whether Chan would eat me if he were a bird and I was a worm," you said nonchalantly, making Felix burst into laughter.
"Well, that's a new one," he said, shaking his head. "Mind if I join you guys? This sounds way more interesting than what I was doing."
"Sure, grab some popcorn and ice cream," Chan said, motioning to the snacks. "The more, the merrier."
As Felix settled in, more of the boys started to trickle in, drawn by the laughter and the promise of a cozy movie night. Soon, the living room was filled with the entire group, each bringing their own snacks and jokes, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Seungmin and Jeongin squeezed onto the couch, while Minho and Hyunjin sat down on the carpet, and Jisung plopped down next to you, offering a bowl of popcorn. The room buzzed with energy, the movie playing in the background almost becoming secondary to the fun and camaraderie.
Chan leaned over and whispered, "See? This is why I love you. You bring everyone together, even with your silly questions."
You smiled, feeling a deep sense of contentment. "I love you too, Chan. Thanks for always being there for me."
He kissed your forehead. "Always."
As the movie continued and the night wore on, you found yourself surrounded by laughter, warmth, and the best company you could ever ask for. Despite the emotional start to the evening, you ended up with a heart full of joy, knowing that no matter what whimsical questions or moments came your way, you had Chan and the boys to share them with.
And as the credits rolled and everyone began to drift off to their rooms, you stayed a little longer on the couch with Chan, your head resting on his shoulder. "Today turned out to be pretty great," you whispered.
"Yeah, it did," he agreed softly, his hand gently rubbing your back. "And I wouldn't change a thing."
You closed your eyes, feeling the rise and fall of his chest beneath you, knowing that with Chan by your side, you could face anything, even the silliest of questions.
