You'd been spending a lot of time at the Stray Kids dorm lately, mostly because you wanted to be close to your boyfriend, Hyunjin. It wasn't that you didn't love the boys—they were like family to you—but living with eight other people, even temporarily, was starting to take its toll.
It was the little things that were driving you crazy. Like how Han never cleaned up after himself in the kitchen, leaving dirty dishes and crumbs everywhere. Or how Lee Know constantly borrowed your things without asking and conveniently forgot to return them. Then there was Seungmin, who had a knack for misplacing small but essential items, like the TV remote or your phone charger. And don't even get started on Jeongin—he had so many clothes that he'd resorted to leaving them all over the place because he simply didn't have enough room in his closet.
Today had been especially frustrating. You'd walked into the living room to find Han's half-eaten sandwich sitting on the coffee table, Lee Know wearing your hoodie (again), and the TV remote mysteriously missing (thanks to Seungmin). To top it all off, you tripped over a pile of Jeongin's clothes on your way to the bathroom.
By the time evening rolled around, you were at your wit's end. You retreated to Hyunjin's room, seeking refuge from the chaos. He was lying on his bed, sketchbook in hand, when you walked in. He looked up and immediately noticed the frustration written all over your face.
"What's wrong, babe?" he asked, setting his sketchbook aside.
You sighed, collapsing onto the bed beside him. "I'm just... I don't know. It's exhausting being here all the time. I love the guys, but it's the little things that are driving me insane."
Hyunjin turned onto his side, propping his head up with his hand. "Like what?"
"Like Han never cleaning up after himself," you started, counting off on your fingers. "And Lee Know borrowing my stuff and never giving it back. Seungmin keeps misplacing things, and I can never find them when I need them. And Jeongin—why does he have so many clothes? It's like they're multiplying! I tripped over one of his piles earlier."
Hyunjin listened patiently as you vented, nodding in understanding. He knew the boys could be a handful, and he appreciated how much time you were spending at the dorm just to be close to him. When you finally finished, he reached out and gently squeezed your hand.
"I'm sorry it's been so tough," he said softly, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. "I know it's not easy dealing with all of us. You're amazing for putting up with it."
You smiled at his words, feeling some of the tension melt away. "Thanks, Jinnie. I just needed to get that off my chest."
He leaned in, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "I get it. You deserve to have some peace and quiet."
There was a brief pause before Hyunjin spoke again, his voice casual but laced with a hint of excitement. "You know... we could always move in together."
You blinked, taken aback by the suggestion. "Wait, what?"
Hyunjin's lips curved into a sweet smile. "Move in together. Just the two of us. I mean, we're practically living together here, but without all the chaos. We could find our own place, somewhere that's just ours."
You stared at him, processing what he was saying. The idea of having a place with Hyunjin, where it was just the two of you, where you could escape from the craziness of the dorm, was... perfect. It was more than perfect.
"Hyunjin, are you serious?" you asked, your voice filled with both surprise and happiness.
He nodded, his eyes warm and sincere. "Yeah, I am. I love having you here, but I hate that it's stressing you out. I want us to have a place where we can just be together, without any of the mess. What do you think?"
You felt a rush of affection for him, your heart swelling at how considerate and thoughtful he was. He wasn't just thinking about himself—he was thinking about you, about what would make you happy.
"I think it's a wonderful idea," you said softly, leaning in to kiss him. "I would love that."
Hyunjin grinned against your lips, pulling you closer. "Great. We'll start looking at places soon."
As you cuddled up with him, all the frustration from earlier seemed to vanish. The thought of having a place with Hyunjin, somewhere you could both call home, was more than you could have ever hoped for. And it made all the little annoyances of living at the dorm worth it, knowing that soon, it would just be the two of you, building a life together.
