You had casually mentioned it once, in passing, during a conversation that felt like ages ago. The topic had drifted to favorite foods and drinks, and without much thought, you'd confessed your love for strawberry smoothies. It was something simple, almost insignificant, but Jeongin had latched onto it like it was the most important thing you'd ever said.
The first time he brought you one, you were surprised. You'd just finished a long day of practice, your body aching and your mind exhausted, when he showed up at the studio. Jeongin was grinning, a familiar cup in his hand, condensation dripping down the sides.
"Hey," he said casually, as if it wasn't a big deal. "Thought you might want this."
You blinked, taking the smoothie from him, the coolness of the cup a welcome contrast to the heat still radiating from your skin. "Thanks, Jeongin," you replied, a smile tugging at your lips. You took a sip, the sweet taste of strawberries instantly lifting your mood. "You didn't have to do this, though."
He just shrugged, his smile widening. "I know. But I wanted to."
From that day on, it became a thing. Every time you met up, whether it was planned or by chance, Jeongin would have a strawberry smoothie in hand, ready to give it to you with that same bright smile. At first, you thought it was just a phase, something he'd do a couple of times before moving on to something else. But it wasn't.
It didn't matter where you were—at the studio, out with friends, or even just running errands—Jeongin would find a way to get a smoothie to you. Sometimes, he'd text you and ask if you were free, only to show up a few minutes later, the familiar cup in his hand. Other times, he'd surprise you, popping up out of nowhere with that signature grin and your favorite drink.
One day, after a particularly grueling practice, you were sitting on the floor, trying to catch your breath when the door to the practice room swung open. You looked up, expecting to see one of your group members, but instead, there was Jeongin, holding a strawberry smoothie.
"Delivery for Y/N," he announced with a cheeky smile, strolling into the room like he owned the place.
You couldn't help but laugh, shaking your head as you pushed yourself up from the floor. "You're unbelievable," you said, but there was no hiding the warmth in your voice. You took the smoothie from him, taking a long sip before letting out a content sigh. "Thank you, seriously."
He leaned against the wall, watching you with a soft smile. "You've had a long day. Figured you could use it."
"More like you have a radar for when I need one of these," you teased, raising the cup slightly. "Do you have a sixth sense or something?"
Jeongin chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Maybe," he said, his voice a little softer now. "I just like seeing you happy."
You felt a flutter in your chest at his words, the sincerity in his tone catching you off guard. Jeongin had always been thoughtful, but this... this was something else. It wasn't just the smoothies—it was the way he remembered something so small, the way he went out of his way to make sure you were okay, even when you hadn't realized you needed it.
"Jeongin..." you started, but the words caught in your throat. You weren't sure how to express what you were feeling, how to thank him for something that felt so much bigger than just a smoothie.
He must have noticed the look on your face because he stepped closer, his expression softening even more. "It's really no big deal, Y/N," he said gently. "I just... I want to take care of you, you know? In any way I can."
The sincerity in his voice, the way he looked at you with such open affection, made your heart swell. You couldn't stop the smile that spread across your face as you reached out, pulling him into a hug. He froze for a second, surprised, before wrapping his arms around you in return.
"Thank you," you whispered, your voice muffled against his shoulder. "You have no idea how much this means to me."
Jeongin chuckled softly, resting his chin on top of your head. "I'm glad," he murmured, his arms tightening around you. "I'll keep bringing them as long as you want."
You pulled back slightly, just enough to look up at him, your smile still firmly in place. "I think I'll always want them," you said, a teasing lilt to your voice.
He grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Good. Because I'm not planning on stopping anytime soon."
And with that, you knew that no matter how tough your day had been, as long as Jeongin was around—with his strawberry smoothies and his endless thoughtfulness—everything would be okay.
