The lights are blazing, the crowd roaring, and the beat pulses through your body as you dance across the stage. You're a backup dancer for Stray Kids, living the dream you've worked so hard to achieve. The energy is electric, and everything feels perfect—until it doesn't.
It happens in an instant. One second you're spinning in sync with the music, and the next, your foot lands wrong. Pain explodes in your leg, sharp and excruciating, and you crumple to the ground. The crowd's cheers become muffled, the world around you a blur of sound and light. You try to move, but the pain is unbearable, and when you glance down, you see your leg twisted at a horribly unnatural angle. Panic seizes you as reality sinks in—this is bad, really bad.
"Y/N!" Your boyfriend Hyunjin's voice cuts through the chaos, filled with fear. He's at your side in a heartbeat, dropping to his knees beside you, his hands hovering over you, unsure where to touch without causing more pain.
You bite back a sob, clutching your leg. "It hurts," you manage to gasp out, your vision blurring with tears.
Hyunjin's face is pale, his eyes wide with panic. "Don't move, okay? Just stay still. We're going to get you help."
The music and the lights stops abruptly, the concert grinding to a halt as the other members rush to your side. Bang Chan steps forward, taking control of the situation even as worry creases his brow. "Stay calm, everyone," he says into his mic, addressing the crowd. "We've got a situation, but everything will be okay. Hyunjin will be going with Y/N to the hospital, so he won't be able to finish the concert. Please understand."
The words echo in your ears, Hyunjin will go with you... won't finish the concert... even as medics appear, moving quickly to assess your injury. You feel Hyunjin's grip tighten on your hand, and he leans down close to you, his voice trembling. "I'm not leaving you. I'll be with you the whole time, okay?"
You nod, though the pain is overwhelming, making it hard to focus on anything else. The medics work quickly, and before you know it, you're being lifted onto a stretcher. Someone injects something into your arm, and the pain begins to fade into a distant throb as the drugs take hold. Your vision blurs, and the last thing you see before everything goes dark is Hyunjin's face, full of worry and love.

The weeks that follow are some of the hardest you've ever faced. The surgery to fix your leg was complicated but successful, but recovery is slow and painful. You're confined to crutches, unable to walk long on your own, let alone dance. The days blur together, each one filled with physical therapy, painkillers, and an overwhelming sense of frustration.
Hyunjin is there through it all, a constant source of support. He takes care of you, helps you with everything, from getting around the apartment to making sure you have what you need. But despite his efforts, the frustration inside you only grows. You miss dancing more than anything, the ache of longing almost as painful as your injury.
One evening, after another long day of doing nothing but sitting on the couch, you finally reach your breaking point. Tears well up in your eyes, and you turn to Hyunjin, who's sitting beside you, flipping through channels on the TV. "I can't do this anymore," you whisper, your voice shaking. "I miss dancing. I feel like I'm going crazy."
Hyunjin turns to you, his expression softening with understanding. He sets the remote aside and pulls you into his arms, holding you close as you cry. "I know it's hard," he murmurs, his hand gently stroking your hair. "But you're healing, Y/N. It's going to take time, but you'll get back to dancing. I promise."
You shake your head, the tears flowing freely now. "It's been weeks, and I can't even stand on my own. I just... I just want to dance again, even if it's just for a moment."
Hyunjin is silent for a moment, and then he pulls back, looking into your eyes with determination. "Come with me," he says softly, standing up and offering you his hand.
Confused, but trusting him, you take his hand and let him help you to your feet. He guides you to the center of the living room, then turns to face you, his hands resting on your waist.
"What are we doing?" you ask, your voice still thick with tears.
Hyunjin smiles gently, his eyes warm and full of love. "We're going to dance," he says simply.
Before you can protest, he carefully lifts you up, your feet not on the ground anymore, placing them on top of his. Then, holding you securely, he begins to sway, moving slowly in a gentle rhythm. Your weight is fully supported by him, allowing you to move without putting any pressure on your injured leg. It's slow, soft, but it feels like dancing.
You lean into him, resting your head on his shoulder as he guides you around the room. The tears that fall now aren't from frustration, but from the overwhelming love you feel for him. "Thank you," you whisper, your voice barely audible.
Hyunjin presses a kiss to your temple, his arms tightening around you. "I'd do anything to make you happy," he replies softly. "Even if it means carrying you through every dance until you can do it on your own again."
And in that moment, as you sway together in the quiet of your living room, you know that with Hyunjin by your side, you can get through anything. The road to recovery is still long, but with him supporting you, you'll find your way back to the stage, back to dancing, back to yourself.
