The rain starts to fall just as the evening winds down, the rhythmic patter against the windows creating a cozy atmosphere in the dorm. You've spent the night hanging out with the boys, sharing laughs and stories well into the late hours. The plan was to stay the night, especially after it got too late to head home safely, so you make yourself comfortable on the couch in the living room, wrapping yourself in a soft blanket one of the boys handed you earlier.
You've always been close with Seungmin. Among all the boys, there's something about him that makes you feel especially safe, a connection that goes beyond friendship. He's the one you can talk to about anything, the one whose quiet strength has a way of grounding you, no matter what chaos might be swirling around. Tonight was no different—he made sure you were comfortable, that you had everything you needed before he retreated to his room for the night.
As the hours tick by and the night deepens, the storm outside intensifies. The soft patter of rain turns into a downpour, and soon, the occasional roll of thunder becomes a constant rumble, shaking the walls and making your heart race. You try to focus on relaxing, closing your eyes and pulling the blanket tighter around you, but each flash of lightning and crash of thunder pulls you further from sleep and deeper into fear.
You've always been scared of thunderstorms. It's something about the unpredictability of them, the sheer power that makes you feel small and vulnerable. And tonight, alone on the couch, the fear feels even stronger, wrapping around you like a vice. After one particularly loud crash of thunder, you know you can't stay here any longer.
You think of Seungmin, your closest friend, the one person who always makes you feel safe. Without a second thought, you slip off the couch, and quietly make your way down the hall to his room. The door is slightly ajar, and you gently push it open, careful not to make too much noise.
Inside, Seungmin is sound asleep, his soft breathing the only sound in the room. The sight of him there, so peaceful and calm, makes your fear ease just a little. But another flash of lightning, followed by a loud crack of thunder, reminds you of why you're here, and you quickly move to his bedside.
You hesitate for a moment, not wanting to wake him, but the need for comfort wins out. You gently shake his shoulder, your heart pounding in your chest as you whisper his name. "Minnie... Minnie, wake up."
He stirs, blinking as he tries to focus on you in the darkness. "Y/N?" His voice is groggy, laced with concern as he looks up at you. "What's wrong?"
"There's a storm," you say, your voice small and trembling. "I'm really scared. Can I... can I stay with you?"
Seungmin's expression softens immediately. He knows how storms affect you, how they always have. Without a word, he shifts to the side, lifting the edge of his blanket in a silent invitation for you to join him.
Relieved, you slip under the blanket, the warmth of the bed and Seungmin's presence already calming your frayed nerves. As you settle in beside him, he wraps his arm around you, pulling you close to his chest. It's the safest place in the world, you think, tucked under his arm, feeling his heartbeat steady and sure beneath your cheek.
"Better?" he asks softly, his voice laced with concern.
"Much better," you whisper back, closing your eyes as you snuggle closer to him. The sound of the storm outside fades into the background, drowned out by the steady rise and fall of Seungmin's breathing and the sound of his heart beating beneath your ear. With him beside you, the fear that had gripped your heart just moments ago begins to fade, replaced by a comforting warmth.
"Thank you, Seungmin," you murmur, your words heavy with gratitude.
"Anytime, Y/N," he replies, his voice a soft promise in the dark. "I'm here."
With those words, you finally let yourself relax completely, your breathing syncing with his as you drift off to sleep, feeling safe and secure in his arms.

Morning comes gently, the storm long gone, leaving the dorm bathed in soft light. Chan is the first to wake, and he makes his way to the living room, expecting to find you still asleep on the couch. But when he reaches the living room, the couch is empty, the blanket tossed aside. Your shoes are still by the door, so he knows you haven't left, but a flicker of concern prompts him to search the dorm.
He checks the kitchen, the bathroom, even peeks into the other boys' rooms, but there's no sign of you. Finally, he reaches Seungmin's room, the last place he hasn't looked. The door is slightly open, and Chan pushes it wider, peering inside.
What he sees brings a grin to his face. You're curled up against Seungmin, your head tucked under his chin, both of you fast asleep. Seungmin's arm is still draped over you protectively, holding you close as if even in sleep, he's guarding you from the remnants of the storm.
Chan chuckles quietly to himself, pulling out his phone to snap a few pictures. He knows how much the two of you mean to each other, and seeing you so peacefully snuggled together is too sweet not to capture. He knows he's going to have a field day teasing you both about this later, but for now, he's content to let you sleep a little longer.
