The sun filters through the curtains, casting a warm glow on the room. Felix is sitting at his gaming setup, completely engrossed in a new game. It's one of his rare days off, and you had hoped to spend it together. Instead, he's been glued to his screen for hours. You sit on the couch, trying to read a book, but your eyes keep drifting back to him, feeling a twinge of sadness.
You try to shake off the feeling, but it's hard to ignore the disappointment. You had imagined spending the day doing something fun together, not being ignored. Gathering your courage, you stand up and walk over to him.
"Felix," you call softly, placing a hand on his shoulder.
He doesn't look up, his eyes fixed on the game. "Just a sec, Y/N. I'm in the middle of something."
You sigh, frustration bubbling up. "You've been saying that for hours. Can we please spend some time together?"
Felix sighs, finally tearing his gaze from the screen. "I just need a bit more time. This level is really important."
You take a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "Felix, I just want to spend some of it with you. We barely have time to do fun stuff together."
His eyes flicker with irritation. "Why can't you understand that I need to relax too? Gaming is my way of unwinding."
Your heart sinks at his harsh tone. "I do understand, but I miss you. Can't we compromise?"
Felix takes a deep breath, clearly annoyed. "Fine, just give me a few more minutes."
Feeling dejected, you nod and return to the couch. The minutes drag on, and your patience wears thin. You can't shake the feeling of loneliness creeping in. You get up again, more determined this time.
"Felix, please. I really need you right now," you say, your voice trembling.
He slams his hand down on the desk, finally looking at you. "What is it, Y/N? Why can't you just let me have this?" He yelled.
You flinch at his outburst, scared of the loud noise his hand made and the fact that he never yelled at you before. You instinctively take a step back, your body tensing. Felix's eyes widen in realization, and his anger dissipates in an instant.
"Y/N, I'm so sorry," he says softly, his voice full of regret. He takes off his headset and turns off the game, his attention now fully on you.
You stand there, tears welling up in your eyes, feeling exposed and vulnerable. Felix gets up and walks over to you, his movements slow and careful. "I didn't mean to scare you."
You nod, tears spilling down your cheeks.
Felix wraps you in a gentle embrace, his arms providing the comfort and safety you desperately need. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. I should have been more considerate."
You bury your face in his chest, your tears soaking into his shirt. "I just wanted to spend time with you."
He holds you tighter, his hand stroking your hair. "I know, and I'm sorry I got so caught up in the game. You're more important to me than any game."
You take a deep breath, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat calming you. "I just felt like I don't matter."
Felix pulls back slightly, looking into your eyes. "You matter more to me than anything, Y/N. I'm so sorry I made you feel otherwise."
You smile through your tears, the sincerity in his eyes filling you with warmth. "Thank you, Felix."
He kisses your forehead tenderly. "How about we do something together now? Anything you want."
You nod, feeling the weight lifting off your shoulders. "Let's go for a walk. Get some fresh air."
Felix smiles, taking your hand. "Sounds perfect."
As you walk hand in hand through the park, the fresh air and the sound of birds chirping help to lift your spirits. Felix keeps you close, his presence a reassuring constant.
"I'm really sorry, Y/N," he says, squeezing your hand. "I promise to be more present from now on."
You look up at him, your heart swelling with love. "I know you will. And I'll try to be more understanding too."
He smiles, leaning down to kiss you. "We'll figure it out together."
As the sun sets, casting a warm glow over the park, you feel a sense of peace settling in. With Felix by your side, you know that no matter what, you'll always have each other.
