It all starts one quiet afternoon when you and Felix are hanging out alone in the dorm. The other members are out for the day, leaving the place unusually peaceful. The two of you have been binge-watching a new drama, the sounds of dialogue and occasional action filling the room. But even with the TV on, there's a comfortable silence between you both, a kind of familiarity that comes from being best friends for years.
As the credits roll on another episode, you reach for the remote to pause the next one. You stretch out on the couch, your head resting on the armrest, and glance over at Felix, who's sitting on the floor with his back against the couch.
He looks up at you, an easy smile on his face. "You know," he says casually, "I'm kinda tired of all the teasing."
You raise an eyebrow, curious where this is going. "What do you mean?"
Felix sighs, leaning his head back against the couch. "You know... the guys always going on about how we're the only ones left who are single. It's like they won't let it go. Every time we're all together, it's the same old jokes."
You nod, fully understanding his frustration. The teasing had started off as light-hearted fun, but lately, it seemed like the others were taking it as their personal mission to push the two of you into relationships.
"I get it," you agree. "They're relentless. But what can we do? It's not like we can magically make the teasing stop."
Felix stays silent for a moment, as if he's thinking deeply about something. Then, a mischievous glint appears in his eyes. "What if we could?" he suggests, a playful edge to his voice.
You sit up a little, intrigued. "I'm listening."
Felix turns around to face you more directly, crossing his legs as he does. "Okay, hear me out. What if we pretend to be a couple? Just to get them off our backs. They'll think we're together, and then maybe they'll stop bugging us all the time."
You blink, surprised at the idea. "Pretend to be a couple?" you repeat, processing the thought. "You mean like, holding hands and acting all couple-y around them?"
"Exactly," Felix nods, his grin widening. "We play it up, let them believe we're together. It'll be hilarious to see their reactions, and maybe they'll finally stop with the 'why are you still single?' jokes."
You chuckle at the thought, picturing the stunned looks on your friends' faces when they realize you and Felix are "dating." The idea is ridiculous, but it also has a certain appeal. It's not like you haven't acted close before, and you trust Felix more than anyone. Besides, the thought of turning the tables on your friends is too tempting to pass up.
